Good alternative to NITs

For ME students, no better place to prepare for any govt. Exams like we did. Better not go for placements and prepare yourself for the govt. Exams simultaneously.

Course curriculum is made thinking in mind the boarder view of mechanical engineering instead of any specific area of interest. After one year, one may get into any of the sub-field to do the research, that is the best thing here. Students here don't come for placements while opting for ME. they prepare for other exams simultaneously. Students get enough time for any other preparation as well.

Placement for B.tech is average in mechanical department while for M.E. there are no separate drive for such students. They sit in the same placement drives as for the graduates. That is the reason, students in ME don't sit in these drives.

Goonj is an annual techno cum cultural fest of UIET. however, one may find many tests going on during the first quarter of the year in the University. One can learn management skills as well. The events are organised by the student committees itself.

Fee structure for ME course is very much feasible. You get stipend Rs.12500 per month sufficient enough to self- sponser your course. Annual fees is around Rs. 30000 including everything. (hostel excluded). The fees has to be given in 2 installments each year. (17000 for 1st half + 8000 in the 2nd half of the year)

Clearing GATE makes you eligible for AICTE scholarship/stipend of RS. 12500 per month. After getting admission, you will be registered by the college itself.

Campus life is the most enjoyable moment of your life. There is diversity in the hostel itself. Gender ratio would be 40:60 girls to boys. The University is political active as well. You will find many student parties and union here. Apart from these, there are various cultural clubs you may participate.

Getting hostel in PU is a big deed, even more difficult than getting admission here. There are very few seats available for ME students. Hostels are very much affordable. (13000 annually) without food. There are various PGs nearby but are way more expansive than hostels.

Seniors are very much supportive. There is no such thing as ragging or bullying. In the clubs mentioned above they work together and develop team spirit.

GATE 2017. Scored 472 score. Admission forms are available online after may. Admission based on merit. The reason I chose this institute is because it is very much affordable and it is the best place out of home to prepare for government Examinations.

Faculty is well qualified. Faculty are from reputed institutes including various IITs, NITs and some are even done their phd's abroad. Average age of the faculty would be 35-40. The course is not very hectic. There are only 3-4 lectures each day with Saturday and Sunday off.
