Remarks :
I have chosen this course because I am always passionate to learn chemistry. I want to explore it by doing research in my future. This is one reason for which I have chosen chemistry. Central University is a very good place to study because all faculty members are researchers. About 2-3 cultural events are organised per month. Sports oriented students can also go for different sports. The campus is provided with Led lights for night time. Students also get scholarships from university and also DST scholarships are also available.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The entire course has been divide into 4 semesters. The first semester has the topics Inorganic and Solid State Chemistry,Organic Structure, Reactivity and Mechanism,Symmetry ,Group Theory, Quantum Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory - I,Organic Chemistry Laboratory - I. The second semester consist of the courses coordination Chemistry,Organic Reactions and Synthesis, Thermodynamics, Kinetic Theory & Statistical Mech., Physical Methods in Spectroscopy, Physical Chemistry Laboratory - I,Organic Chemistry Laboratory -II semester 3 consists of the courses Organo-metallic and Bio-inorganic Chemistry,Organic Spectroscopy and Bio-organic Chemistry,Reaction Dynamics, Surface- & Electro- Chemistry Elective - I, Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory - II, Physical Chemistry Laboratory - II, Seminar. semester 4 consists of the courses ,Elective - II, Elective - III, Elective - IV, Dissertation / Project work, Seminar.
Placement Experience :
The total strength in our course is about 40, which might expand next year. Every year 2-3 students get an internship from reputed science institutions. Students from the chemistry department have cleared national level tests like CSIR NET, GATE, etc. Most of the students chose research courier. Every year the national level chemistry conference is conducted. Many students have got placements in geology but from the passing out batch I saw 10 students out of 30 getting placements in ISRO. The highest package was around 10 Lacs rupee. There are many jobs recruits in geology such as OIL, Hutti mines, Kolar mines, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees structure is made in such a manner that it is feasible for all students. The total for fees for the entire course is Rs.11,715. The fees is divided for the 4 semesters. The fees for the first semester is Rs 4290,the fees for second semester is Rs 2,310 , the fees for third semester is Rs 2,585 and the fees for fourth semester is Rs 2,530. The total fees includes Tuition, Admission, Library, Exam Fee, Laboratory Fee, Magazine Fee, Sports Fee.
Campus Life :
The whole campus is free Wi-Fi enabled. Every classroom has a smartboard and projector. Lab facility is good. Instruments like IR, UV visible spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and other minor instruments are available. The college provides 3 hostels for girls and 2 hostels for boys. It provides separate hostel for both girls and boys. There are 3 food stations, banking facility, bus facility, bicycles for students, etc.
Admission :
The candidate should have minimum of 55% for the graduation. And these candidates should apply online with required information. Eligible candidates need to appear for the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) conducted by the university.Admission is based on the rank obtained in Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). There are a total of 20 seats out of which 5 seats are reserved for obc students, 4 seats for sc/st students and 1 seat for pwd students.
Faculty :
Faculty members in our college are highly qualified. Most of them are from IIT, UOH and DU institutes. They have high teaching and research experience. They are student-friendly. They are from different parts of India. The course curriculum mostly covers all chemistry topics, and it is relevant to CSIR exam syllabus. But the university is a new one. So it currently has no industrial linkage. But every year industrial visit is conducted for students.
