Remarks

In total it is a very good College,I have made many friends in Thapar which indeed are my best friends for ever in life,in my good and bad times they were with me,and helped me out from every difficult situation i was,

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Thapar mainly focuses on the Health and skills of a student. Regarding the course structure, it focuses well on every department, mainly the core branches and also provide a lot of facilities to the students in their respective branches. They are trying to add new features to Thapar and also making an Eco-friendly system within the campus, Exams and labs are conducted in a well manner. In case of some bad weather the Labs and Exams are postponed but rescheduling is done in a very good manner.Overall the Exam Structure here is very good

Placement Experience

3.5

Generally companies come which provide a minimum stipend of 15k to 20k and a max of 2 lacs to 3 lacs, Microsoft,Oracle,Paytm,CapGemini,Indian Oil,etc. Came to Thapar in recent times, they provide remarkable stipend.

College Events

3.5

Hackathon by Owasp and E-SUMMIT'20 by Entrepreneurship Development Cell was contected. Saturnalia also conducted events in which Anubhav Singh Bassi came. There was an EDM Night conducted also E-SUMMIT'20 was one of the biggest event conducted which brought about 500 participants, approximately half from first year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Tuition Fee:94500 Student Security:10000 Examination Fee:2000 Development Fee:55000 Alumini Fee:1000 Medical Fee and Insurance Charges:400 Student Activities & Welfare Charges:7500 Hostel Fee:27500 Mess fee:16000 Every year the fee would increase by 10% Hostel is not upto that mark for that amount to be paid, neither the food quality. Fees should decrease.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the students who have scored above a required margin, have been awarded with some scholarship with a condition that each year he would have to maintain a CGPA of 8.5 or above else the scholarship won't be provided to the student.

Campus Life

4.5

Thapar provides a very good sport facility, infact except few sports thapar provide facility for every sport, workshop are generally held for students interested in that particular thing there are certain societies like NOX AND SUR which provide a platform to show their skills in dance and singing respectively.

Hostel Facilities

2

Yes i have opted the Hostel Facility because of my home being so far.I have been allotted a Hostel which is 4 seater. The rooms are big enough for 4 beds to be kept. But the condition of the rooms are not up to the mark. The study table should be of more good quality and there should be enough ventilation so that in summers we don't feel to hot.

Alumni/Alumna

Yeah the seniors are friendly and even help a lot in many things. The seniors in society helo a lot in various things and motivate us a lot and usually when i have talked to the seniors i always got a very good response from them. Like one time i asked about how to study for the semester, they helped me how to handle great pressure wity less effort, told that day an engineer is know an engineer if he completes his work in less time and less work with greater efficiency.

Admission

I saw no other option than persuing this College, else i would have stood no where.I think this College was good enough to give me time to full fill my dreams. The first day i entered the College i thought that this platform can bring miracles to me if i try my best. The College had this team called "Frosh" for the freshers. If they had any doubt the Frosh team was rrsdy for helping us.The College had asked for "Anti Ragging and Anti Drug&Alcohol Affidavit" with 10+2 and 10th marksheet and mugration certificate with a checklist of all the certificates being mentioned clearly. After submitting and attesting the Thapar authorized signature,it was time to pay the fees after paying the hostel and mess fee,we shifted to collect our receipt and the Admission Letter At last we were allotted our Hostel rooms which finally confirmed my admission to TIET.

Faculty

3

The faculty are not too good but,the senior professors are extremely good, the way they teach is outstanding,no mistake in concept and very clear cut points are picked up by them, Nevertheless there are minor faults in communication but if that communication gap is filled,it would result in effective results. Here the Teacher's Assistant, have to pinpoint everyone and humiliate infront of the whole class, otherwise they help in clearing certain doubts. In total they are ok ok.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
