Insight on my College

Positive remarks about my college would be the location.It is in the prime location of Tollygunge,Kolkata between two metro stations and we can also get bus or autos to most of the parts of Kolkata from around here. Negative remark would be placement and Infrastructure,the college authorities need to concentrate on better placement drives because at the end of the day that's what matters.The infrastructure is good but regular maintenance would not do any harm.

My college comes under MAKAUT like most of the colleges in West Bengal.The curriculum is getting updated now to help the students learn latest things about their respective fields.The exams are taken in two semesters; odd and even.

Placement is not so good in my college.It was very much better when I came to the college in the first year but the condition is poor now.Most of the drives are pool campus or the ones which are On campus have very low packages and the job profiles does not match the field we are studying in.

Intracollege Football tournament under the name 'Tornio' is held every year. I got to see two cultural fests under the name 'Celsius' one in 2016 and other in 2019 and one technical fest along with the cultural fest in 2019.

Very feasible. Students from West Bengal can also get tutuion fee waived off if their financial condition is not good under the scheme of Bengal Government.They just have to provide the domicile and Income certificate of their parents.

Our college has a ground in the campus where students can play football cricket or volleyball.The labs are also good for Computer science,IT and ECE but not very much updated.For Civil and electrical the labs are there but equipments are a decade old.

There is no hostel in our college. But students can accommodate into PG's or rent flats in the neighborhood of the college.It is not very expensive if 3-4 students decide to stay together. The PG's are also good and you can get food from the PG owners too.

There is no alumni network as far as I know.The seniors were helpful till they were in the college and also help us after graduating if we keep contact but they also get busy and can't help so much once they graduate.

I gave WBJEE in 2016 and got a rank of 27160. I was eligible for counseling at this rank so I had to fill a choice list of colleges with the respective branch in which I wanted to get a seat.I go to Kolkata for confirming that I wanted to proceed with the counselling after the 1st round and along with that I had to pay ?20000 which was later adjusted with my admission fees.I got this college in the 3rd round of counseling which was the last round.I could have taken admission into the colleges which I got in the 1st and 2nd round but I wanted to wait till 3rd round to see whether I get a better college or not.So after getting the results of 3rd round , the time period was provided within which I can apply for admission in the college.I came to Kolkata once again for the admission process and finalized it on the same day itself.On 4th August 2016 I had my first class.

Faculty give their best to help the students understand and cope up with their subjects.But there are less number of faculties in some of the branches like Computer science,IT and ECE are the branches with most number of teachers and labs.
