Remarks

Location was one of the major drawback of our college which is continuously getting better with the development taking place in the lower Assam region. It is a world class college that had the capicity to achieve 100% placement mark even with such location limitations.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course ciricullum were very old and were not designed to keep up with the present day industry requirement.In order to prepare for campus interview you were expected to have other skills that were completely different from what was taught. Subjects taught were just used for passing exam and securing cgpa.

Placement Experience

Placement was decent and there were very few companies for internship. However placement were 100 percent and everyone was offered a decent package. Thanks to the mass recruiter nobody was left without a job by the end.

College Events

There were cultural and technical fest. Cultural Fest- Incandescence. Technical Fest - Technois. Apart from these there were local cultural fest like posua celebrating Assamese culture. Spark music event to encourage the young musicians. Several sports events day and night tournaments hostelwise.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government institute Fee was very affordable and very far less as compared to other private colleges. Mess charges were nominal and food quality was good. There has been a significant hike in the fees in past 3-4 years.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facility were available from bank like SBI which also had an on campus branch. Although fees were very nominal those who needed to finance their study used to get loan very easily and without any hustle.

Campus Life

Sports facilities were excellent. There were very big seperate grounds for cricket and football and a big indoor stadium. The library which is built newly is the biggest library in asia. Computer and ECE labs were having more than required number of machines.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities were excellent and there were sufficient rooms to accomodate all the students.There were single room alloted to the students of 3rd and 4th year. All the basic facilities were provided.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumuni are like family and very helpful.Still we have watsapp groups where people help each other by letting them know about the new opening. Alumuni meets are organized in different cities where people from differnet batches connect and get to know each other.

Admission

Through AIEEE exam. It was a national level exam conducted and students were selected on the basis of their ranks.This exam has now been replaced by JEE mains and advanced.Usually the students who were within 20000 to 30000 were selected.

Faculty

Faculty were indifferent towards students but it is not true for all of them. So were really good and helpful but most of them didn't care about students. They use to complete their duty of coming to the class and teaching something for one hour doesn't matter if anyone understood or not.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

The students who are appearing for the 7th semester end term examination are eligible for the campus placement drive , eligibility varies as per the companies eligibility criteria, main factors are CGPA score of the particular student. There are many companies who visited the campus for placement drive but the main companies who visited for campus placement drive are : NRL( Numoligorh Refinery Limited) ,ONGC( oil natural gas corporation) etc , the highest package offered was 24 lpa by NRL and the offer was got by 8 students and the average package of our college is 7lpa approx

Placement Experience:

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

I get this college after qualifying jee mains exam through josaa counselling. I want NIT Durgapur but I miss out by only 1500 rank . Before NIT Silchar I get NIT patna civil engineering in first round of counselling but due to better placement stat and campus I choose this one . My admission process is very smooth where the help desk counter and senior help new comer. On my admission day I also get my scholarship id i.e, roll no. Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

I chose this college mainly due to its large campus and facilites and decent placements. This college has a great alumni network and has the best clubs and societies among top colleges and also organises one of the best fests. I could have got a better college but my rank didn't allow me to secure admission into the top ones. Our college only accepts JEE Mains score as the admission criteria. I chose this college as NIT Silchar is an allrounder package, you want academics? Done! Fest? Done!! Every wing is awesome. From the very first being in my home state, it was the best college I can opt for after IIT Guwahati. I did got offers from other colleges government and semi, but NITS gave me my favourite branch and secured future. This college has a great placement records in PSUs for core branches and great IT sector companies for other branches. Courae is ergonomically designed to withstand the students potential and push up to next limits. After jossa I applied in different nits as per my rank I got electrical Engineering department. NIT Silchar is one of the prestigious nits. As per nirf ranking it comes under 7th ranking. It has one of the top digital library where there are different books available. According to campus beauty it is the best beautiful campus. It has 18 lakes and a tea garden as well.
