Positive Remark : Since it is Centrally funded university, it is doing very well. Negative Remark: Since it is located at a remote area of Assam, many companies are not willing to come for placement activities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course curriculum has been updated so as to satisfy proper knowledge of the day-to-day life. About the exam structure, every subject have 100 marks in a semester, 30 marks for mid semester exam, 50 marks for end semester exam and 20 is internal marks, which the teacher assign according to their convenience. Usually they conduct 10 marks class test and 10 for attendance and assignment submission.
Placement Experience
We have an active Training and Placement Cell which regulate and are responsible for the training and placement activities of the students. The on campus placement percentage of our branch is 100% till date. The Training and Placement Cell also regulate the internship activities of the pre-final year students. After 6th semester is over and the vacation of 2 months starts, the pre-final year students undergo industrial training and internship during that period.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is quite feasible as the fee structure varies according to family income of a student. There are four categories of fee structure. 1) Below Family Income of Rs. 1lakh. 2) Between Rs. 1-5lakhs. 3) Above Rs. 5 lakhs. 4) SC/ST students. SC/ST students and those having family income below Rs. 1 lakh receive a tuition fee waiver. They need to pay only the hostel and mess fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not availed any scholarships. However some of my friends have taken bank loans. There is one scholarship for the students of Assam, named, "Ishan Uday ", which students in first year can avail.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities include : 1)NCC activities. 2) Social activities. 3) Sports - both indoor and outdoor. 4) Dramatics Club. 5) Music Club. 6) Literature Club. 7) Mountaineering and Trekking Club.
Hostel Facilities
I would rate the infrastructure : 8/10. Mess is functional with proper time. 24*7 water and electricity supply. Mess bill is displayed every month. Different kinds of festivals are celebrated in hostels. 1 Day and 2 Night Canteens are available in the hostel. Also there is a magazine and newspaper corner.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, seniors are very helpful, not only in academics but also for extra curricular activities listed above. The 25 years alummlni from the current year are invited to attend the alumni meet, named, "Rexian Alumni Meet". This event takes place every year. They make donations, help the students to avail internship and a lot of things.
Admission
I appeared JEE Mains in the year 2017. I qualified the exam and was assigned an "All India Rank " and a category rank. I belong to OBC-NCL category, and category rank is required for further admission process. Defaulters should proceed with the All India Rank. I,then, filled the choice filling form for the online counselling process. There are a minimum 6 rounds of counselling with an interval of a week. On the first week, i.e., during 1st round of counseling, I got the seat of Computer Science and Engineering in National Institute of Technology Silchar. Then according to further procedure, I had to physically report to the nearest counselling centre for accepting the seat/participation for further rounds of counselling. I accepted my seat and paid the counselling charge. Then on the date of admission, I visited National Institute of Technology Silchar and took the admission.
Faculty
Faculties are having a good knowledge of their prescribed subject. They arrange both lecture and tutorial classes for the students. Alongwith dealing with student's academic procedure ,they also take up various projects and are also involved in research works.
