Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course I’m pursuing (B.com prog.) is a widely opted course. The college has a different section for commerce. The faculty is highly qualified. It is a three year course, six semesters. Few subjects change every semester. There’s no economics in the first year but you’ll surely get economics as a subject in the third year. Similarly there are two English related subjects in the first year, semester I, but only one in the second. The exam structure is easily understandable and not too rigid.

Placement Experience

5

The placement cell of ARSD is very active. Since I’ve joined the college I’ve noticed various activities, various seminars, various orientation programs held by the placement cell. The college is very serious about placements and jobs. There are many opportunities for internships and experience.

College Events

3.5

The college freshers was great! I had THE BEST FRESHERS among my friends. My friends always want to come to ARSD in the events. ARSD is highly known for it’s grand fest and celebrations. The 2019 fest of ARSD College was a very successful one with record breaking crowd.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being from an average household, the fee structure to me is feasible. I pursue B.com Prog. and the fee is approximately 10,000 an year. 30,000 for an undergraduate course is feasible in my opinion. Being a college of the Delhi University the fee structure is similar to other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a government college it has a lot of scholarships and loan facilities available. The Taneja Foundation Scholarship, given to 10 meritorious students of the college is the most known. There are many other course wise scholarships like Dr. Usha Aggarwal Tejaswi scholarship (B.com P), Sultan Chand Memorial Scholarshi (B.com Hons.), Rukman Tara Memorial scholarship (B.sc Hons.) and many more.

Campus Life

4.5

Amazing! There is a wide range of extracurricular activities performed in the college which are very involving and has great opportunities. The labs are recently renovated and are in great state. The department of sports is constantly working to help the sportspersons get much recognition and opportunities.

Alumni/Alumna

Very famous alumni keep visiting the college and motivate the students to achieve what they aspire for. The seniors are the best part of the college. They are the most helpful, friendly and fun seniors. My first few friends in the college were seniors! They are great to hang around with and also very informative and helpful. They helped me a lot to get prepared for my first examination.

Admission

The college put up a merit list. Admissions were allotted on the basis of class 12th percentage. I got admission in the second cut off. The college provides 1% relaxation to girls. I had to photocopy all my necessary documentation like report card, adhaar card, university registration form, and reach the college campus. An appointed staff member verified the marks and the percentage and then I had to fill the form and submit it to the college with photocopies of my documents. College students, i.e. our seniors were actively working to help in admissions and were very informative and helpful. They provided us with all the necessary information. Hence, I faced no difficulty in the admission process.

Faculty

5

The college faculty is great. Teachers are highly qualified and learned. Not mentioning but some of them are real gems. Teachers in ARSD are strict but also very understanding with genuine problems. Friendly and helpful teachers make college life a phase to remember. There is a vast variation in the teaching styles of all the teachers but all of them are highly effective and efficient.

Placement Experience:

After completing 4 semester you are eligible to sit into on-campus placements i.e. after completing your second year. Companies start to arrive in final year or pre final year of you're going for 4 year degree. Big 4 companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PWC and other companies like accenture, zomato, airtel can be seen in placement season. Average package is 4-5 LPA ranging from college to college and depends individual skill set and practical experience. Highest could go upto 22LPA in our college. Half of the students gets placed during the season but not all. After competition of degree students can pursue various courses like CA, CS or praper for CAT/GMAT.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.
