Remarks

Some students smoke in the college campus which I find very irritating.

Entrance Preview

There is no entrance exam. Admissions are on the basis of marks you get in you class 12. I got 95.5% in my top 4 subjects. I got admission.

Internships Opportunities

I am doing B.com (hons) and I am in the first year. I have no such experience.

Placement Experience

Placement and job opportunities are good. There are lot of famous companies who come here for campus recruitment. Companies like Wipro, Infosys and other IT companies visit the college campus for good employees for financial services.

College Events

The annual festival of this college is called Quest. They are organised on a large scale and are conducted over a period of 3 days. Programs like dancing, singing, and other activities are organised.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any loan. The college fees is just ?85.

Campus Life

Campus life is pretty active. Male female ratio is approximately 1:0.9. There is a lot of students who are from backward caste (approx 60%). Admissions for general category students is very difficult especially in the morning section.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are very cooperative. The students union are strictly against ragging.

Placement Experience:

Idk but i guess students become eligible from 2nd or 3rd sem. Idk what is the company visited but the placements are very good i heard that, avg package varies 2.4 lpa I guess. Right now i am doing internship so as of now i don't have plans.

Students become eligible for campus placements after the 5th semester. A few companies like TCS visit our college every year. The average package offered is around 100000 PA I want to go for higher studies after the degree but I want some real life work experience too.

Most of the students also get placement opportunities whether large or small package The opportunity is given to all degree whether it be bcom or bcom hons . Any student who does not get placed can easily use the degree to get a high paying off campus placements and to go to any good college or stay in this college for their post graduation.

The course curriculum is backdated and should be improvised as it doesn't give any exposure of present industry knowledge. The frequency of exams is that exams are held after 6 months on semester basis and are easy to pass and majority of the students pass this semester easily.

Quite an Average Government College which lacks in infrastructure, faculty, and placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I mentioned, the course curriculum is outdated and no new industry knowledge is being taught. Projects and assignments are also bookish and are just for sake. Teaching methods by teachers are also bookish and backward. The frequency of exams are after every 6 months and are pretty manageable and easy.

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
