Life at FMS Delhi

At FMS, you'll quickly learn that there is no room for boredom as you'll always be on the go, running to classes, attending guest lectures, turning in projects, creating case studies, and other things. Academics at FMS involve more than just the classroom whiteboard and PowerPoint presentations; they also involve field trips, group assignments, individual and group projects, and rooming together to inspire you to think outside the walls of the school. Aside from the classroom, life at FMS will be surrounded by numerous student organizations that host exciting events to keep you on the go. The B-school essentially forces you to take part in competitions and real-world projects that will enable you to explore the seemingly limitless opportunities available to B-school students.

The first few months at FMS literally leaves you with just enough time to catch 4-5 hrs of sleep. The first couple of months will see you fighting for getting into the various clubs and committees and within no time you realize that Summer placements are approaching and you start your preparations for one of the most important days of your life at FMS. As soon as you are done with the summer placements and get in the mood to party, the first semester exams start knocking your doors and you realize it's time to dive into the books again. After the super hectic chaos of the first 6 months, life will eventually get a little relaxed (or probably you would have adjusted to the chaos by then).

Studying at FMS, which is located in the center of North Delhi, will be a completely unique experience. With the help of the Delhi Metro, you may visit well-known markets in Delhi like Connaught Place, Janpath, Sarojini Nagar, and INA Market, among others. The nearby pioneer institutions, such Kirori Mal College (KMC), St. Stephen College, Hans Raj College, Ramjas College, and Miranda House, to name a few, are another incredibly striking aspect of life at FMS. You will have the chance to visit these colleges while attending FMS during their festival seasons or for academic competitions/events.

 

FMS Delhi Daily Routine

An FMS student's typical day begins at 8 am when he or she wakes up and prepares to go to class, which starts promptly at 9. There are 4 lessons every day, each lasting an hour. The classes are followed once or twice a week by Guest Lectures given by well-known figures in the field who share their firsthand knowledge and insightful perspectives on the dynamic business environment.

 

FMS Delhi Hostels

Although the B-school provides hostel housing for its full-time MBA students, many choose to live in PGs or rented apartments instead due to the competitive hostel admissions procedure. Compared to the expensive hostel fees at prestigious B-schools, the rent at these rental apartments is quite reasonable.

FMS Delhi Clubs and Annual Fest 

Apart from academics, the college engages in a lot of co-curricular activities as well. The various clubs under the purview of cultural society, namely Nethra - The photography club, KALA - The fine arts club, Agamya - the literary and debate club have events all year around, enabling students to pursue their hobbies and interests in different fields.

FMS also holds its annual fest FIESTA, which receives a bludgeoning response from B-schools across North India.

 

FMS Delhi Library 

The FMS Library is an invaluable resource for students, researchers and faculties of business and management. The FMS library was founded in 1961. FMS has its main library at the North Campus of the University. The library has over the years built a robust collection of over 50,000 books, over 100 journals (including 60 foreign journals), 12 news papers, and many other resources like thesis, student's project reports, CDs, various reports, economic surveys reports, etc.The library, spread over 5178 sq. ft., also provides access to the best of business and management related digital resources through university network subscription to various databases consisting of scholarly and industry relevant content.
