BIT magnificently completed PRODUCT FAIR-2023

In line with India's 'AatmaNirbhar Bharat' Abhiyaan (Self-Reliant India Campaign), BIT organized a day-long "PRODUCT FAIR" on May 20th, 2023, at its campus. The event saw enthusiastic participation from school children, college students, entrepreneurs, and faculty members who exhibited their products and took part in the contest. The showcased products ranged from hardware, software to bioproducts, highlighting the diverse talents of the participants.

The "PRODUCT FAIR-2023" commenced with an inauguration ceremony graced by esteemed guests. Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, the Honourable Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, served as the Chief Guest, while other recognized dignitaries including Prof. Chittaranjan Kole, Ex-Vice Chancellor of BCKV & Raja Ramanna Fellow; Dr. Mahuya Home Choudhury from DST & DBT, Govt. of West Bengal; Mr. Subhasis Sarkar, Regional Head of NASSCOM; and Dr. Saptarshi Chatterjee from BIRAC, adorned the dais. The event drew the attention of several experts and resource persons, creating an enriching environment for all involved. Approximately 300 individuals actively participated in the event.

The "PRODUCT FAIR" was organized as an initiative under the framework of the 'National Education Policy,' aiming to promote self-reliance. The event concluded successfully with the awarding of prizes to the deserving contestants, recognizing their outstanding contributions and accomplishments.

BIT Students reiterated the Hackathon-2023 award

Building upon their previous achievements such as the Smart India Hackathon-2022 and UNESCO India and Africa Hackathon-2022, the students of BIT once again demonstrated their exceptional talents and reaffirmed their position by emerging victorious in the "Smart Bengal Hackathon-2023." This hackathon was organized by RCC Institute of Information Technology, providing a platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas and skills.

Furthermore, the students of BIT achieved the remarkable feat of securing the 1st Runner up position in the Inter College Project Competition on "Prototype for mankind." This competition was organized by the prestigious Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, further highlighting the proficiency and ingenuity of BIT students.

These recent accomplishments serve as a testament to the caliber and dedication of the students at BIT, who continue to excel in various competitive events and demonstrate their ability to develop innovative solutions for real-world problems.

BIT Students Made West Bengal Proud Yet Again!

Lokesh Pandey, a fourth-year student of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Bengal Institute of Technology (BIT), brought great pride to Bengal by winning the UNESCO-India-Africa Hackathon 2022. His remarkable achievement came in the category of Problem Statement ENE-G41. The award was presented by the honorable Vice President of India on November 25 at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

This prestigious hackathon witnessed participation from over 600 innovators, including students from 22 African countries and Indian students. Their objective was to develop solutions for 20 problem statements. Amongst all the institutes in Eastern India, BIT stands alone in securing such a distinguished award, solidifying its reputation as a leading institution in the region.

Prior to this accomplishment, Lokesh and his team, 'Brogrammers1', comprising Piyush Saha, Deep Bhakat, Ankit Sau, Anand Prakash, and Pallavi Dhar, all students of BIT, clinched the Smart India Hackathon-2022 award in September 2022. This nationwide event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

BIT, which offers undergraduate courses in CSE, IT, CSE (AI&ML), and ECE, has become a beacon of inspiration for students in Eastern India. Their consistent success in hackathons reinforces their legacy as a hub of innovation and excellence in the field.
