AISSMS College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Pune successfully hosted Atithya 2026, an International Inter-Collegiate Hospitality Competition, from the 4th to the 6th, bringing together young hospitality talent from across India and abroad.

The three-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 25 teams representing leading hospitality institutes from various parts of India, along with an international team from RUDN University, Moscow. Students competed in nine diverse hospitality competitions, showcasing skills in culinary arts, food and beverage service, front office operations, and allied hospitality domains.

A key highlight of the event was the Awards Night, which was designed around an elegant Russian theme as a mark of respect and goodwill towards the visiting team from Moscow. The ceremony was graced by H.E. Mr. Ivan Fetisov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Mumbai, as the Chief Guest and Dr. Victor Gorelykh, Director, Russian House as a Guest of Honour. The event was hosted by Hon. Secretary Shri Malojiraje Chhatrapati and was graced by the presence of Yashrajraje Chhatrapati and close to 400 distinguished guests, including academicians, industry professionals, and members of the Russian expatriate community residing in Pune.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sonali Jadhav, Principal of AISSMS College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, stated that Atithya is organised with the objective of creating a common platform for hospitality students to showcase their talent, creativity, and professional competence, while encouraging cultural exchange and healthy competition among institutions. Mr. Ananad Chordia, Director, Suhana Masale addressed the students and spoke about taking Indian Food to the Global Market.

The coveted Champions Trophy of Atithya 2026 was awarded to Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai, for their outstanding overall performance across competitions.

With its blend of competition, cultural exchange, and international collaboration, Atithya 2026 once again reinforced Pune’s position as an emerging hub for hospitality education and global academic engagement.
