PTU Exam Result 2026: Date-wise Release, Login Steps, Merit List and Re-evaluation Fee

PTU Exam Result 2026 is out for the November 2025 and April 2026 semester exams. I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Jalandhar, declares results in phases, course by course. The November 2025 results came out between March 7 and March 10, 2026.

Results do not appear on a public list. Each student sees the result only inside a personal login on ptuexam.com. The Grade cum Marksheet (DMC) is also issued in the same login.

The April 2026 cycle is now complete enough for merit lists. The university published the provisional merit list for passing year 2026 on October 1, 2026. The next theory exams start on November 10, 2026.

IKGPTU runs two result pages. Each one serves a different kind of result.

The same login also handles exam forms, fee payment and admit cards. So students should keep the password safe for the full course.

How to Check PTU Exam Result 2026

Students follow these steps to see the semester result.

1. Open ptuexam.com.
2. Enter the university roll number as the user ID.
3. Enter the password and log in.
4. Open the result or documents section on the dashboard.
5. Select the exam session, such as April 2026.
6. View the result and download the DMC for records.

A student who forgets the password gets it from the college or the HOD. The university states this in its exam notice dated September 16, 2026.

Example: A B.Tech 6th semester student who appeared in May 2026 selects the April 2026 session. The marks of all subjects then appear with the SGPA.

PTU Merit List 2026 for Passing Year 2026

The provisional merit list covers students who passed every semester in the first attempt. Students with any reappear do not appear in it.

The list ranks students branch-wise by CGPA. In B.Tech (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), the top CGPA was 9.2. The list also shows the college name and passing session.

The list is provisional. Students who find an error should report it through their college.

PTU CGPA to Percentage Conversion

IKGPTU multiplies the CGPA by 10 to get the percentage. This rule applies to students passing out from the April/May 2020 session onwards.

Example: A student with a CGPA of 8.2 has 82 percent. Before 2020, the university used a factor of 9.5.

Why a PTU Result May Not Show in the Login

Students often report that the result page shows nothing. These are the common reasons.

• Pending or discrepancy case: The university clears these within 10 working days after the main release.
• Exam fee not paid: A form filled without online fee payment is treated as cancelled. No result is made for that student.
• Missing internal or practical marks: The college uploads these marks. Students should check with the HOD first.
• Wrong page: Re-evaluation results sit on support.ptu.ac.in, not in the semester result section.

How to Apply for Re-evaluation After the PTU Result

A student unhappy with marks can apply for re-evaluation of a theory paper. The fee depends on how many days have passed since the result notice.

These fees come from the university fee notice dated February 8, 2024. GST applies on top.

In the last notified cycle, students filled the form in their own handwriting. They paid by demand draft to the Registrar, payable at Jalandhar. The college then sent the forms to the university.

Important: In challenge evaluation, the Rs. 5,000 is refunded if the student passes. The Rs. 1,000 processing fee is never refunded.

Reappear, Golden Chance and Improvement After the Result

Students who fail a paper clear it in the next exam session. The reappear fee is Rs. 1,500 per semester for the November 2026 session.

For November 2026, reappear forms are filled from the student login. The window without late fee runs from September 22 to October 23, 2026.

Improvement allows up to 10 theory papers in total. Students can take at most 5 papers in one session. If the new marks do not improve the division, the old marks stay.
