NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2026 exam in two sessions: Session 1 (January) and Session 2 (April). The exams will be held in 2 shifts – morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM over several days.

• NTA will start the registration of JEE Main Session 1 in 1st week of October 2025 till December 2025.
• The registration of JEE Main Session 2 is expected to start from 1st week of February till last week of February 2026

JEE Main 2026 registration fee varies based on the candidate’s gender, category, choice of exam center, and papers. Check the fees below:

JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in 2 sessions, with Session 1 in January 2026 and Session 2 in April 2026.

• The JEE Main registration for Session 1 is expected to start in November 2026, while for Session 2 it is expected in February 2026.

JEE Main eligibility criteria as set by NTA are mentioned below:

• Educational Qualification: Pass or appear Class 12 with mandatory subjects like Physics and Mathematics, and must have one of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a technical/vocational subject.
• Age Limit: There is no age limit to appear for the JEE Main.
• Minimum Marks (for NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs): General candidates have at least 75% in Class 12 or are in the top 20 percentile, whereas SC/ST are required to have at least 65% in Class 12 for taking admission in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
• Number of Attempts: Maximum of 6 times over 3 consecutive years, starting from the year they have cleared their Class 12.
• State Code of Eligibility: Determined by the state from which you have passed Class 12, not by native place or residence.

Candidates applying for JEE Main 2026 must keep certain documents ready to avoid rejection of their forms. As per the advisory, these updated documents are mandatory for eligible candidates:

• Aadhar Card
• UDID card (if applicable)
• Caste/Category certificates 

In addition, a scanned passport-sized photograph and signature in the prescribed format must be uploaded while filling out the JEE Main registration form.
