Fees and Financial Aid

MIT manipal offers a complete package of social life and academics. A college reknown for its placements, and excellence in reasearch. Talking about the fees its a little on a higher side but will definetly result in better growth than other colleges. Fee vary around 1300000-2200000 lakh for 4 yrs. Hostels are decent in this college with a wide variety of options to choose from. Scholarships are merit based which allows a concession upto 25%

Faculty

FACULTY TO STUDENT RATIO IS GREAT AT MIT MANIPAL, UNLIKE SOME PRIVATE COLLEGES HAVING THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS STUDYING. MANIPAL PROFESSORS ARE REALLY FRIENDLY AND SUPPORTIVE WHETHER ITS FOR INTERNSHIP, ACADEMICS OR ANY SORT OF RESEARCH RELATED DOMAIN. EXAMS IN MANIPAL ARE QUITE CHALLENGING BUT ARE SCORABLE, 15% OF PAPER COMPRISES OF GATE LEVEL QUESTION FOR BETTER STUDENT EVALUATION

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is divided in semesters. Per semester you get to pay around 70000 INR if you belong to the general category and if you belong to ST/SC category, your tuition fee is exempted. However everyone has to pay around INR 5000 as other fees. The institution has a scholarship cell through which you can apply for various governmental and non governmental scholarships.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is well designed as per the National guidelines and they are enough to put technical knowledge to students as per industry and research standards. The only problem with curriculum, not only with our institute but with all other institutes is, itis a bit outdated as per the present day scenario.

Faculty

Show the faculty members was good all though there is very professional professor very good teaching experience and had a long time experience all the new teachers who who can understand the feeling of the students faculty ratios also good I want to take name of professor Prashant sir, vidyalakshmi mam,Dhirendra sir I like my math faculty very much because of his teaching experience he is teaching math around 30 + year they have they have simple tricks to to learn the basic maths and higher level math also they are a writer of a book of math I like them because of their teaching expertise the way he is teaching. I don't like my physics professor because they are very rude and there are some new teacher also they does not have as many good knowledge is the old professor they are just chilling and say the chapter is done and now you have to do the left part of the chapter. In the university there are three exam I like mid term 1 midterm 2 and then end sem exam are moderate type just like mid term one is easy midterm 2 is moderate and and same will be moderate to duffer side almost all student clear the exam the course curriculum is too relevant for the first year all the courses are the same for the all branches.

Course Curriculum Overview

Pirate my course curriculum 4 out of 5 because the first year the course would be same for every branch like CSE, ece, eic, etc the project we are given are also for the real world exhibition and for the academic pursuits just like we had given a project to build a website for for a restaurant chain to identify from the customer have where to deliver and how could the customer reorder the same food or the another food from their website I was influenced for the curriculum of my course is to that the first in the first year the course would be same for the whole University in the engineering block yes for the real world application subject are like PPS which is practice for problem solving which is the real life based problem solving for the technical world in physics area University has to improve the in the course curriculum and teaching method the we have where to purchase smart boards and clean the classes so that a person can feel the environment of the class to study frequency of classes are like in a week for classes of each subject and timing is around 50 minutes to 1 hour

Fees and Financial Aid

For the students whose family income is above 5 lakhs, they need to pay the full payment. For those who belong to the group between 1 to 5 lakhs family income they have to pay 33% and for below 1 lakh, tution fee is revoked. Almost all scholarships under NSP is considered and applicable here.

Course Curriculum Overview

There's a mid term exam in every 3 months and an end term exam in the end of every semester. Mid terms are of 20 marks each subject and 1.5 hours where as the end term exams are taken on for 50 marks . Rest 30 marks is from internal assignment and projects to make it 100

Faculty to students ratio is quite good but the faculties themselves are not that great The best faculties are from the mech department Dr Paramvir Singh is one of them name of faculties i don't like is Subir Das Debanjan Acharya and Jayanta Kumar rakshit from EIE dept they're too strict for no reason and also doesn't teach well Exams are not that difficult but the marks depends on the faculties mood and relation with that specific student

Placement Experience

Some students get unpaid internships from college as early as 3rd year and on 4th year every student have to do internships Evey year an average of 70 to 80 percentage student gets placed The highest package is from CSE dept 54 lpa and the average package is somewhere around 8 to 10 lpa

VIT has 2 annual festivals. The first one is GRAVITAS, which is VIT's annual tech festival. Various clubs organise workshops and hackathons over a period of three to four days. This takes place in the month of september. VIT also has a lesser known week long tech festival known as YANTRA, where clubs and chapters conduct hackathons and workshops overnight. The second one is Riviera, the annual cultural festival of VIT. Major artists from over the country are invited to perform. Clubs organise fun events for the students to register in and enjoy. VIT has a central library called periyar central library. It has a wide range of books, ranging from exam prep guides to non fictional novels. Students can borrow books for a maximum of 2 weeks. If returned late, then a fine has to be paid when returning the book. Each classroom in VIT has a table for the professor, a projector, and a white board used for writing and projecting. The basketball scene is very active in VIT. Apart from basketball, there are many sporting events such as marathons, mini tournaments, etc. conducted for the students to participate in. There are a variety of student-run social clubs at VIT. they conduct regular meetings to discuss various topics.

Faculty

Before every semester starts, students are to fill a wishlist for the courses they want to take in the upcoming semester. VIT assigns faculty based off how many have filled the wishlist. If students don't fill the wishlist, then there will be a shortage of faculty. I won't be disclosing any names, but majority of the faculty I've interacted with so far are very skilled in their fields of research. There's only been one faculty I've had a bad experiencr with so far. He was very strict with how he maintained the class demeanor and always cut marks in exams for no reason. For exams, there are 3 main exams every semester. CAT 1, CAT 2 and FAT. CAT.1 is a normal test of one hour thirty minutes, while CAT 2 is an open book test of the same duration. The number of students failing to clear the exams depends on the class average and standard deviations taken to calculate grades.

Ques. Which has better placements, IIT (BHU) Electrical or IIT (BHU) Electronics??

● Top Answer By Vinima Bhola on 23 Jun 25

Ans. Electrical Engineering at IIT (BHU) has a well-documented and strong placement record, with high placement rates (81–86%) and top packages reaching up to ?1.68 crore per annum (in B.Tech overall, with Electrical also benefitting from high offers). The Max CTC for Electronics Engineering is ?50 LPA for 2024–2025, which is less than the highest mentioned for Electrical. However, placement details for Electronics Engineering are less commonly recorded. This might, however, represent a single offer or a particular position rather than the branch's highest or average overall. Both branches are highly sought after and have strong industry connections, but Electrical Engineering currently has more publicly available and impressive placement statistics.Read more

Ques. Can BITS Pilani be preferred over IIT BHU for mechanical or electronics engineering?

● Top Answer By Shreya Karmakar on 31 Jul 24

Ans. IIT BHU and BITS Pilani are two highly reputed institutes for engineering studies in India. IIT BHU would be a better option over BITS Pilani because of these reasons: Brand Value: IIT BHU carries the prestigious “IIT'' tag which holds more brand value than the “BITS Pilani'' tag. This will become important to you when applying to foreign universities for your higher education.  Fees: As a government institution, the fees of IIT BHU is much more affordable as compared to BITS Pilani. This in turn, gives IIT BHU a higher ROI (Return on Investment), as IIT BHU offers even better placements than BITS Pilani.    Here are the important comparisons between IIT BHU and BITS Pilani:   Particulars IIT BHU BITS PILANI   Establishment Year   1919   1926   NIRF Engineering Ranking    15   25   Tuition Fee   *INR 1 lakh per semester   INR 2.60 lakh per semester   Highest package (2023)   INR 1.68 CPA   INR 50 LPA (Electronics)   INR 91.19 LPA (Mechanical)   INR 60.75 LPA (Overall)   Average package (2023)   INR 31 LPA (PPO Average CTC)   INR 29.56 LPA (Electronics)   INR 21.95 LPA (Mechanical)   INR 30.37 LPA (Overall)   [ CTC Range:   INR 14-30 LPA (Electronics)   INR 9-18 LPA (Core) ]   Recruiters on Campus   Acc cement, Accenture, Accolite, Adani, Aditya Birla, Aditya Birla chemical, Adobe, etc.   BSCPL Infra, Grand View Research, McAfee, Greenko Group, McKinsey & Co, CA Technologies, Grey Orange, etc.  *(for SC/ST/PwD students, and others with family income <= 1 LPA, the tuition fee is 0. The tuition is exempted by 2/3rd for students with family income <=5 lakh and > 1 lakh). IIT BHU is much more cost-effective than BITS Pilani, and has better placements as well. It also delivers the much renowned ‘IITian’ tag to its students.   Because of all these reasons, I would recommend you choose IIT BHU over BITS Pilani for your Mechanical/Electronics Engineering. Read more

Ques. Which one is better: chemical engineering at IIT Bombay or computer science and engineering at IIT (BHU) in Varanasi?

● Top Answer By Rishabh on 12 Jul 24

Ans. I am a second-year chemical engineering student at IIT Bombay. I think you should opt for Chemical Engineering at IIT Bombay.  IIT Bombay received 3rd position in the Engineering category as per NIRF 2023 Ranking. In the Placements 2023, the highest package bagged at IIT Bombay was INR 1.68 CPA. OCl, BPCL, ONGC, Reliance Industries, etc. recruit students from the Chemical Department of our institution.  Here is a comparison table between IIT Bombay Chemical and IIT BHU: Parameters IIT Bombay (Overall) IIT BHU (B.Tech CSE) NIRF 2023 Engineering Ranking #3 #15 Placement 2023 88% (B.Tech) 97.32% Highest Package 2023 INR 3.67 CPA INR 1.15 CPA Average Package 2023 INR 21.82 LPA INR 34.43 LPA Top Recruiters 2023 OCl, BPCL, ONGC, Reliance Industries, etc. Google, Microsoft, Sprinklr, Salesforce, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, etc. (The branch-wise placement data for IIT Bombay is not available) IIT Bombay is located in a mega-city, with great industry exposure, and easy access to other cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Thus, I would recommend you choose B.Tech Chemical at IIT Bombay in place of B.Tech CSE at IIT BHU. Read more
