Midwifery and Obstetrical Nursing

This subject helps the candidates to design and understand the concepts and principles of midwifery and obstetrical nursing. Midwifery and Obstetrical Nursing subjects equip students with the necessary knowledge and clinical skills required to provide comprehensive nursing care to women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period, as well as to the newborn child.

• Assessment and management of women during the postnatal period- Normal puerperium: This includes physiology, duration and management, postnatal assessment, promoting physical and emotional well-being, minor disorders of puerperium, lactation management, etc.

• Assessment and management of normal neonates: This Normal neonate, physiological adaptation, initial and daily assessment, breastfeeding, prevention of infections, immunization, etc.

• High-risk pregnancy-Assessment and Management: This includes screening and assessment, ultrasonics, cardiotocography, levels of care, disorders of pregnancy, bleeding in early pregnancy, antepartum haemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, etc.

• Abnormal Labour- Assessment and Management: This includes disorders in labor, complications of the third stage: injuries to the birth canal, obstetrical emergencies and their management, Nursing management of women undergoing obstetrical operations, etc.
• Assessment and management of high-risk newborns: This includes admission of neonates in the neonatal intensive care units protocols, nursing management low low-weight babies, infections, respiratory problems, etc.

Community Health Nursing-II

Community Health Nursing is a vital subject in the BSc Nursing program that prepares students to deliver healthcare services to individuals, families and groups in both rural and urban communities. Management of Nursing Services and Education

The Management of Nursing Services and Education course is designed to help students develop leadership and administrative skills required for managing clinical nursing services, community health programs and nursing educational institutions.
