Course Curriculum Overview

pharmD is an integrated course, that gives medical and pharmaceutical knowledge, helps you to serve a larger role in the healthcare system, this motivated me to take the course. We often go to hospital rotations where we learn to collect several case reports of patients with their consent. We even do project works, assignments related to the diseases and medication. We work onthe drug intractions within the medications prescribed in the case report. The course seems to be versatile but it has it's own flaws. Like our college fsils to complete the course within time, don't follow almnac. The teaching methods should be improved focussing on the practical training ratger tgan being theortical. The exams should be fixed at a particular date and tge syllabus should be completed within that time preparining students to attempt with ease. The course and the syllabus mentioned in the course are dope and impressive but the implementation shouod be focussed by the individual colleges.

The library at Chandigarh University is the best part of this university , the ambience is so good with all the relevant books and jounals available . Recently Chandigarh University was awarded with MAKA TROPHY so you can get an idea how good it is at sports . I'm a coordinator at NSS in CU and it gave me a lot of good opportunities and I'm also a seargent at arms at Rotaract club of Chandigarh University central. These all club are well recognised .

Faculty

Faculties are quite approachable , they will help you with the review and research paper writing . Mentors are too good . Course curriculum is little bit difficult as it's more clinical related and exams of pharm.D occur once a year as its a annual course and 3 MST average marks are taken into consideration for internal marks including surprise test , assignment and quiz.

Some of the teachers were so caring but some are so rude they will scold too much feeling too sad but the same time will help for studying purpose. They will ask questions so that we will study. Some of the professors will scold and their behaviour will show so much partiality towards who will study nicely and who won't. So much of partiality for giving marks.Only I used to score much from Rajiv Gandhi University exams.3 internals were there and 1 main university exam. Few used to fail so many got distinction in final year.

Faculty

The ratio of faculty and students were good and the students and some teachers were not so good . Some faculties I liked very much their teaching methods and some teachers were not so good at teaching due to less experience and thus we felt tough during exams , there were 3 internal exams per year and 1final exam per year this course is good and people who are more interested in biology or life science kind of subjects will like this course. It depends on them how they study I cant say this course may be easy for everyone.

Campus Life

the college held almost all the festival such as women's day, cancer day, TB day, quit smoking etc. We would do rallies on the roads and spread awareness. There were a good availability of books in the library. Our college holds all kinds of sports activities every year.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio - 25 :31 Faculty was very closely to students like they behave like friends.they didn't show any attitude towards the students. I like my pharmacotherapeutics mam (madhuri) because she was encouraged students with positive vibes.she was very talented.she told any thing she knows to students. Mid exams were conducted in my college in 3 terms. Some exams were easy and Some of them are difficult based on the subject

Fees and Financial Aid

The complete course of pharm d fee was 150000 for 6 years, but I am belonging to SC category so I will pay 5500 rs only once a year i.e., university fee. The year wise fee was 250000 Iam eligible for scholarship but I don't receive any type of scholarship since 3 years

Faculty

The Faculty is very cooperative, and the teaching quality is also good. Some teachers are genuinely very knowledgeable and very good at teaching This course follows an annual pattern of exams in which 3 Sessionals are conducted throughout the year and the Term End Exam at the end of the year. The total marks is 100 and the sessional provides 30 ( avg of best 2 out of 3) and the term end provides 70 which makes a total of 100 wigh a passing of 50.

Fees and Financial Aid

Myself Jeswin Mathew, I'm pursuing PharmD, in K.B. Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Gandhinagar. I'm currently in 3rd year and by far the experience has been fantastic. The infrastructure isn't that much catchy but the quality of education provided is very good. The fee structure is 210000/year and the fees increase by 15% for every new batch. A scholarship programme is also in active, if a student secures highest rank in his class, he/she will be awarded with half of their total fees. This helps in motivating students to perform even more profoundly.

Faculty

The number of faculties is sufficient and every batch has a teacher as their mentor till the course ends. The faculties are very friendly and approachable. There are mainly 4 exams conducted, for semester courses 2 internal/mid-sem exams and 2 university exams are conducted while for yearly programmes or courses 3 internals and 1 year end university exam is conducted. The pass to fail ratio is very minimal as only 2-3 percent of students fail. And the ones who fail get 2 chances to clear their AT-KT exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got a Government seat in private college, hence i only had to pay the government fee which was 24,000 INR for first 3 years and 98000 INR for the next 3 years. I didn't have to pay any building funds or other funds. Also i received state scholarship in OBC category ( ssp) for almost every year which covered 95-100% of my fee and even got some extra amount as maintenance . Some of my friends who opted for management quota paid around 1.5-2lakhs per year and also around 1-2 lakhs as building fund for the first year.

Faculty

The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi university of health Sciences. The exams conducted are really strict with no scope of copying. The faculty are exactly enough for the number of students present. We have to write a minimum of 4 exams per year as per the curriculum with passing of atleast half the subject or else there will be a year back.

For other batch mates also same fees irrespective of their categories. No merit cum needs .No scholarships all the above feeses are in the particular 60000 amount only .best college and it's reasonable fees for all students irrespective of their categories. This college is linked with hospitals so we can practice inthat particular hospital.

Faculty

Faculties and students relationship is amazing . Pharmaceuticals subject faculties that students loves mostly.in our college semister wise examinations we have mid exams for particular semisters.mostly all students are pass . 1 percent students may fail. Mostly exams are moderate.during 1st year we didn't like maths faculty due to uncooperative to students. Exam system is best among another colleges very strict during examinations.
