- Long distance from the main city and hospitals makes it hard to attend to hospital rotations and intership hospitals.
Course Curriculum Overview
pharmD is an integrated course, that gives medical and pharmaceutical knowledge, helps you to serve a larger role in the healthcare system, this motivated me to take the course. We often go to hospital rotations where we learn to collect several case reports of patients with their consent. We even do project works, assignments related to the diseases and medication. We work onthe drug intractions within the medications prescribed in the case report. The course seems to be versatile but it has it's own flaws. Like our college fsils to complete the course within time, don't follow almnac. The teaching methods should be improved focussing on the practical training ratger tgan being theortical. The exams should be fixed at a particular date and tge syllabus should be completed within that time preparining students to attempt with ease. The course and the syllabus mentioned in the course are dope and impressive but the implementation shouod be focussed by the individual colleges.
Internships Opportunities
Our college is affiliated with the govt hospital recently for the pharmD 6thyears.(no stipend) There is a thesis projext work need to submitted by 5th yr pharmD students, guided abd validated under the guidance of medical practitioners of various specialised hospitals. Projects arebased ont the trending imp topics within medical field.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm currently studying under the KU universtiy affiliated college. I came here through EAMCET (present EAPCET) in the 2022 in the pharmD 1st year. I belong to st community, as per rules and the joining report provided by the Eamcet website, i shouldnot pay any money including and lab fee or other charges. But our college (private) charges us money. 2022- i paid 17,000 rs + 5000 rs exam fee 2023- i paid 13,500 rs+ 5000rs exam fee 2024 - i paid 13,500 rs + 3500 rs exam fee Other charges for apllications such as bus pass forwading ranges from50rs -200rs
Campus Life
Fresher, farewells, and other awareness programmes like blood donation camps, drug awareness programmes. Fews journals are available. A projector for seminars and presentations and other few facilities. Minimum focus on the sports, but students do participate in the tournaments upon their without any encouragement from college. There is a sports day in saturday, students often play several games. Name sake groups are present without any function.
Admission
Lack of proper guidance in choosing proper colleges. I got seat in brilliant college of pharmacy in hyd. But due to the cost of living in hyd, i applied to the present college in nearby city through eamcet 2nd phase. Admissions are through eamcet portal and management quota. Eamcet exam criteria and 12th pass in both MPC and BIPC are eligibilty criteria.
Faculty
15 :300 faculty tomstudent ratio approx. I like the HOD of pharmD ,padi sir, manjula mam and deepthi mam, but faculty members often the lack the way to guide the subject Therapeutics. Our principal, who is always money minded, and forces us to stay outside the class over fee dues without providing proper time gap. There are 3 sessional exams , which are conducted by our college, the exams are quite easy. Almost everykne do well in the exams. Only few members fail to clear the exams.
Night Life
No, such things. Our college is a small campus, no cafeteria,no hangoutplaces. Hostel is closed during academic timings aka 10am-4pm. Library is open from 10-4pm, but no proper free or leizure time to visit library and study. Mostly under used.
