Goa MBBS Admission 2024: Eligibility, Admission Process, Important Dates, Counselling, Top Colleges

Goa MBBS Admission is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa for all eligible students. The Goa MBBS course is conducted at Goa Medical College. The total intake capacity for the MBBS course at the Goa Medical College is 180 seats. 

Goa MBBS Admission is done based on the NEET results. Candidates with valid NEET scorecards can appear in the Goa MBBS counselling process. The final merit list was released by the DTE on August 22, 2024. The fourth round of admission to the MBBS course was conducted on October 25, 2024, at DTE, Porvorim. 

The NEET 2024 was conducted on May 5, 2024, with the result released on June 04, 2024. MBBS is an undergraduate medical program with a duration of 5 years and 6 months including a 1-year compulsory internship. This course is divided into 9 semesters in which students gain an overview of various MBBS subjects.

Goa MBBS Admission 2024: Eligibility

Candidates seeking admissions to MBBS under DTE Goa, need to qualify for certain eligibility norms as mentioned below.

  • Admissions are open to Indian nationals. NRI students can apply under a specified quota.
  • A candidate must have completed a minimum age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the academic year for admission.
  • They must have passed the class 12 exam or equivalent of the Goa Board or any other recognized board.
  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate of subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together.
  • There will be a relaxation of 5% in aggregate for the reserved category candidates.
  • Candidates must also qualify NEET UG exam for the academic year for admissions.

Goa MBBS Admission Form 2024

Students who fulfil the eligibility criteria must download the detailed prospectus from the official website. Candidates seeking MBBS admissions must qualify NEET UG entrance test which is conducted annually by NTA.

  • Candidates should read out the instructions mentioned on the official website.
  • Only online mode of application is accepted.
  • They should log in to the NTA website and proceed with the application form.
  • Candidates must fill out every required detail in the space provided.
  • They must upload the required documents along with a scanned photograph and signature.
  • Candidates have to pay the fees online and proceed toward the final submission. The Goa MBBS admission application fee is INR 1500.

  • Candidates have to register for counselling on the official website.
  • They have to fill in their preferences for the MBBS admission.
  • The merit list will be released by the DTE indicating admission of candidates. 
  • After the publication of the final merit list, candidates must report to the college to complete admission.

Ques: What is the process of MBBS admission?

Ans: The admission process for MBBS is as per the guidelines of DOTE, Goa. The program is offered at Goa Medical College. Eligible students need to submit the application form along with the application fee at the DOTE campus or other locations mentioned on the prospectus. You’ll also be paying a caution deposit of Rs.10,000 (refundable). Ans. The life of an MBBS student at JIPMER is quiet and tiring. Yet, they get to learn and experience new things every day. Their daily schedule looks like this  8 am to 11 am: Lectures 11 am to 1 pm: Anatomy dissection hours 1 pm to 2 pm: Lunch break 2 pm to 4:30 pm: Practicals In the evening some prefer playing basketball, football, hockey, table tennis, and badminton while others order just napping or hitting the gym. Some music lovers go to the band room to play out various symphonies and musicals. A few artist students spend their time participating or practicing for fine arts competitions. September brings in a huge crowd of students from different colleges attending Spandan. It’s a 7 day intercollegiate cultural literary and sports extravaganza that makes the monotonous life of JIPMER students a bit vibrant. October witnesses the Jipmer premier league ied teams of girls and boys. There is also Curie Day which is the annual girls' hostel day celebration. The hostel is open for boys as well and girls perform dance and sing. After all this enjoyment, the exams begin and students are reminded of their primary goal.  January is usually spent at home. In February, students go to Pune for the fest at AFMC -‘Silhouettes’. March brings in the tension of the annual university examinations and everybody can be seen surrounded by books. The seniors organize a wonderful Holi celebration- a cultural night followed by gulaal in the morning to ensure that students don’t succumb to the stress. Ans. One of my friends was in a similar dilemma. He considered the following points while making his decision  Most AIIMS undergraduates settle in the US or pursue higher education in top colleges in India while CMC graduates prefer CMC for their higher education only.  Students of CMC are required to do bonds in mission hospitals so their higher education gets delayed. But this instills in them a strong sense of community-oriented healthcare. They tend to work in remote places of India without any personal glory. An AIIMS student can hardly be seen doing community service. AIIMS graduates publish more when compared to CMC graduates. CMC students get better hands-on experience and hence fare better in terms of clinical and Surgical skills. Right from the second year, they start assisting postgraduates in clinical work.  If you are a non-Christian, it will be difficult to go through the entire training without a mission hospital Ultimately, make a choice based on your demographics, preferences, and goals in life. Read more
