Meghalaya MBBS admission is conducted by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS). Meghalaya MBBS Admission is done only through the NEET entrance exam. Candidates must have a valid NEET Score to be eligible for Meghalaya MBBS Counselling.

The Meghalaya NEET counselling process to offer MBBS Admission 2025 begins after the NEET 2025 result and is conducted at a state level. NEIGRIHMS, Shillong is the conducting body for Meghalaya MBBS counselling. 

The NEET Exam will be conducted on May 04 by the NTA and the results were declared on June 14,  2025.

Meghalaya MBBS Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should meet the following eligibility criteria:-

  • Candidates applying for admission to the MBBS course must be permanent resident of the 8 North Eastern state.
  • The aspirant must have studied and completed their course in the preceding two years from the schools located in India. 
  • At the time of admission, the aspirant must have completed 17 years of age or will complete on or before December 31, 2025.
  • Candidates must have appeared for the NEET-UG 2025 and qualified for admission to MBBS.

  • Candidates should visit the official website of NEIGRIHM.
  • They should click on the online application form for MBBS admission.
  • They have to first make an account using their credentials. 
  • Candidates are required to make payment beforehand on an external website to access the application form.
  • After the payment, they should fill the application form and upload required documents. 
  • They should submit the duly filled application form online.
  • They form submission, candidates can download the form acknowledgement slip.

Application Fee for Meghalaya MBBS Counselling 2025

The application processing fee for Meghalaya MBBS Counselling is INR 500. Candidates are required to pay the application fee to successfully submit their application form. Application forms without fee payment are not considered for further processing. The fee is non-refundable and has to be submitted through online methods. 

Meghalaya MBBS Admission 2025: Selection Process

  • Candidates are selected based on the NEET-UG 2025 qualified scores and percentile of marks calculated.
  • On the basis of the merit list, seat availability, eligibility criteria, and reservation criteria, admission to MBBS will be granted. 

Meghalaya MBBS Admission 2025: Counselling Process

  • Selected candidates will be called for counselling at the institute which will be held in offline mode.
  • Candidates selected for admission will undergo the medical examination at the Institute. 
  • Candidates must be present at the venue with all the required original documents.
  • Counselling for MBBS admission is conducted only on the basis of merit in the NEET-UG 2025 score and percentile.
  • Candidates admitted can join the classes on the commencement date of the classes.
  • Candidates failing to appear in the counselling should forfeit their admission claim and placement in the waiting list.

Ques. What is the fee structure for Meghalaya MBBS Admission?

Ans. The one-time fee payable at the time of admission is INR. 4,450. And, the annual fee for the MBBS course is INR. 1570.  

Ques. What happens if the candidate does not pass the medical examination?

Ans. If the candidate selected for admission does not pass the medical examination by a Medical Board consisting of Faculty members of the Institute, he/she will not be granted admission.

Ques. What is the bond that candidates have to sign at the time of admission?

Ans. All the selected candidates have to sign a bond on a requisite stamp paper at the time of admission. The bond states that if any candidate leaves the course before its completion shall have to pay the bond money of Rupees Ten Lakhs only.

Ques. Who will supervise the Meghalaya MBBS 2025 admissions?

Ans.  Admissions to MBBS courses in this state will be supervised by the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Meghalaya.

Ans. yes, AIIMS Delhi students do get opportunities to go to US/UK during MBBS — but the reality is a bit more complicated than it sounds. ICMR research grants: if you do solid research and get it approved by ICMR, the trip is fully funded. this is the best route. but you need actual research output, not just applying randomly Self-funded electives: Oxford, Hopkins, Harvard all have elective programs open to AIIMS students. most students who go this route pay out of pocket. AIIMS administration actually discourages it since it means missing classes, but students manage it during vacations or by getting internship extended later Formal exchange programs: AIIMS has MoUs with Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Yale, Oxford. spots are limited and selection is competitive — academic performance and research experience matter a lot real talk — most AIIMS students are genuinely too busy during MBBS to go abroad. the ones who do are usually research-oriented or from very well-off families who can self-fund. if you're planning post-MBBS though, AIIMS is a great launchpad for USMLE (US medical licensing) and UK PLAB prep — the brand carries serious weight internationally.Read more

Ans. No, Christians are not the only ones allowed at CMC Vellore for MBBS. This is one of the most common misconceptions about the college. CMC Vellore does have a unique admission system, but it's not exclusively for Christians: Christian sponsored seats: ~53-55% of MBBS seats are reserved for Christian candidates sponsored by registered church bodies/Christian organisations. These candidates need a church sponsorship letter. Open/All India seats: The remaining ~45-47% seats are open to candidates of all religions via NEET merit. Ans. The students in their internship will get around 35000 per month excluding their mess fees, they have the option to opt out of the mess. And once they finish their internship they had to do two years bond in places where the colleges allot them and the salary for those two years will be decided by the place the person goes and itll be definitely more than what they get during internship.Read more
