The books that teachers follow is standard.

Each subject has 10 to 12 faculties which is quite enough for understanding the subject thoroughly. The efoorts that teachers give is appreciable. They are not only restricted to class... whenever and wherever also we can ask for doubts they don't hesitate to teach us.

Faculty to student ratio is quite good as we have 3-4 faculties in each subject or more I may say. The relationship of faculty and student is also good as some students face language barrier so the faculties teach in both local language and English. Most of the teachers are supportive, and it is based on the student that he likes or dislikes them. Overall all of them are well supportive. Course Structure - 4 years Exam system - Semester wise. 1 mid term and 1 final exam are conducted in each semester Marking scheme - 30 in mid term (theory) 70 in final exam (theory) Overall 100 marks for theory and 100 for practical in each subject

Gauhati Medical College, Assam

Basically the exam pattern is divided into 3 trimesters that covers the syllabus in 3 parts in 3 months each. After the 3rd trimester or pre-finals, the finals are conducted following a gap of a month. The theory papers are conducted first, which are a single paper in trimester exams and 2 papers consecutively in the prefinaos and finals. The syllabus is split for the 2 papers. The practicals are conducted after the theory is done.

Faculty to study ratio is good They are experinced and always eager to teach Especially professors of patho and surgery are very friendly Exams are generally according to nmc schedule only 3 trimesters in each yr and 2 trimester for 3rd yr If u study even 2 mo before exams passing is easy . Usually 5-10 students fail to clear exams

All the 19 subjects of GMCH have excellent faculties. They try hard to train the students and make them one of the best doctors of the country. They provide practical knowledge in the hospital taking patients as example. Theory classes are taken in the lecture hall complex. Seminar & assignments are also discussed properly.
