Remarks

Management of the college is quite good. The principal and vice principal are learned persons and experts in their own fields.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course is not actually research driven. In 1st year there is no much clinics related visit but ward duties start from 2nd year and then clinics continue. After 4. 5 yers, internship starts for one year and then rural posting for the state quota students for one year.

Placement Experience

4

As it is a Medical College there is no question of any company and all. Internship for one year is compulsory for all the students after 4. 5 years of MBBS in the hospital of the college itself.

College Events

4

The main events are the College Week, Medifest (Synchisis), Freshers, college foundation day, University foundation day, Seminars(state, national and international level), Awareness programme for different disease and all, Conference(state, national and international level), etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are quite feasible as it is a government based college. For the admission it requires about Thirty thousands rupees in the first year itself which is for the whole five years. There are some other small expenses like for ID card, practical books etc. Other expenses are related with hostel and fooding.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship are generally for the students whose annual family income are below five lakhs or so. So some students can apply while others can't.

Campus Life

The hospital campus of Gauhati Medical College Hospital is quite big. It is quite a very busy area. There is also the Cancer institute of Gauhati Medical College Hospital just infront of it. It is one of the best government cancer institutes in the country. In our batch boys are about twice of girls in the batch of 200 students. There is no diversity among them based on any criteria.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very very helpful be it related to anything- study related or whatever be it. The always treat juniors as their own brothers.

Admission

Councelling based on state merit list of NEET. It is the best govt. medical college on the state. Admission is based on marks of NEET and 25% AIQ and 75% SQ. Counseling is based on merit list. One has to attend the counseling and he is provided college according to his rank and ranking of med college in the state.

Faculty

3.5

The faculties of Gauhati Medical College are the best med faculty in the state and they are well trained. A total of more than 400 faculties are there in the college elwhich are of different departments. They provide good teaching in the class and also explain doubts in their chamber in the off periods.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was a major factor that influenced my decision to choose this course, as it is well-structured and offers a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. The syllabus covers essential concepts in a systematic manner, starting from the basics and gradually advancing to more complex topics. The inclusion of practical sessions, assignments, and project work made the course appear relevant and aligned with current academic and professional requirements. This thoughtful design assured me that the course would help in developing analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and subject clarity, which are important for both academic growth and career development.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed the course because I dont have so much money to study for btech and all and also I didn't prepare for jee or neet so, the next thing come is mind is bsc that is in botany or zoology as I liked bio more than any other subjects. Yaa by reading botany I can know many things about plant and trees. The improvement that they can do is release a book according to the syllabus by the university and also add few more new teachers such that student can be friendly with them and ask their doubt . For me I think exam timing should be done... Like one before durga puja and one around December . And the difficulty level should be easy .

Course Curriculum Overview:

My choosing of this course stands on the basis to bring forth change in the society even if by a little margin. Theory alone could never prepare you for real life endeavours, therefore practical knowledge is very necessary and this college's curriculum encourages practical application well. The college premises could be improved a little and teaching methods could be improved to be more engaging and enjoyable for the students. There should be a balance between giving notes and lectures on topics of said subjects. There is ample time between exams if one studies by managing time better, the exams are moderate and question pattern is fairly understandable too.
