Course Curriculum Overview
Learning about different forms and genres of literature was what peaked my interest to choose this course. The works of various influential literature writers that are included in the curriculum are relevant but could be a bit overwhelming at first. The length of the curriculum sometimes put the professors in pressure to complete their assigned syllabus and skip a bit. And some who don't skip, are unable to complete their sullabus. The curriculum may be improved by reducing the some of the contents.
Fees and Financial Aid
We had to pay about INR4950 at the admission of odd semesters and INR400 at the even semesters, i.e., it's basically about INR5500 per year. Additional exam fees, which are about INR1500 are not included.
Campus Life
The Freshers, College Week, Cultural Rally, Farewell every fests are a great experience. The availablity of books and magazines in the library are reasonably good. The facilities within the classrooms are slowly upgrading. There is little to no sports activities.
Admission
I applied for EFLU (Shillong Campus), Central University of Karnataka, Tezpur University, Gauhati University and Dibrugarh University and some of their affiliated colleges like Darrang College, DHSK College and many more. I did get pass through the merit lists of Karnataka, Darrang and DHSK. I had to choose Darrang because the last date for admission in DHSK, I was unable to go there due to personal reasons & I forgot about the Karnataka application form. The admission process was really smooth with the help of the faculty members and volunteers.
Faculty
Our faculty members are very experienced. The marking scheme of our performance is comparatively similar to that of HSLC and AHSEC. The new course structure is a bit overwhelming at first but gets gradually comfortable.
Night Life
The gym and the indoor stadium of our college are lively, evening to night. Outside the college campus there are various food stalls and cafe where multiple groups of students residing in private hostels, rentals, and PGs gather to spend time and eat.
