Likes

Our college has the state of the art infrastructure with a hudge patient load and exposure
A competitive and yet very healthy academics
Situated in the best location on the hilltop at the heart of the city

Dislikes

Proper facilities for spirts activities are yet to be done
A good campus life is what a gmcian would always long for
Proper canteen with a better menu and affordability

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is 100% compulsory one to be done in the college itself with a stipend of 35000 in all the departments. It is when everyone gets exposure to the practical approach. It starts right after the final MB

Likes

The efforts of faculties is appreciable.
The laboratory equipments are enough as required.
The books that teachers follow is standard.

Dislikes

200 students for 1 lecture hall is not good.
The microscopes are quite old so few if them doesn't work.
The fees for manuals is high then needed.

Internships Opportunities:

After completion of the course of 4.5 years. The college provides 1 year of internship in the college hospital itself in the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital in Bhangagarh. This institute then gives stipend of around 30000 rupees.

Campus Life as the campus is not too large to explore
Diatance between the college and hospital attached
Means of Transportation as the college is located in hilltop, so there is less transport facility

Internships Opportunities:

As we are the first batch so the internship has not yet started, it will start in our 4th year. But as told, the internship is going to be a good one with more and more clinical exposures and we as 2nd yr student also do our clinical duties daily and are learning a lot and preparing ourselves for the internship. There is also a research and dissertation in the final year.

Patient inflow is very high which allows the students to learn from a variety of live cases.
The hospital facilities and technologies are advancing rapidly providing better healthcare.

Internships Opportunities:

The MBBS curriculum includes a 1 year period of internship during which the students are supposed to serve in the hospitals for which they would be provided a stipend. In Gauhati Medical College the monthly stipend is ?35000.

Patient flow is good so there is lots to learn and they are very friendly if u talk to them nicely
Teachers are expirienced and always eager to teach

Dislikes

If are a person who loves to enjoy fests and gatherings it is not for u . I think u can only enjoy if u know the local artists of assam
Attendence is quite a big issue here most the dept are super strict and they will not arrange extra classes for u to makeup your attendance

Internship is in hospital mostly and few months are in boko phc Stipend is good compared to most govt medical colleges its 30000- 35000 rs Students are posted in various depts After intership only registration no is given

A quick guide to Gmch

Likes

College provide best clinical exposure with vest mentors. There is one to one mentorship available as well.
Classroom are fitted with Air conditioning and all the modern amenities.
Experienced teachers who give real time check to our progress

Dislikes

Playground is very small as compared to the batch size

Internships Opportunities:

There is internship after passing final year for 1 year. You get paid for it. It is hectic but you can learn a lot from it. Overall internship provides a total devolopment and confidence to practice medicine alone.

The system compels students to regularly study.
We meet a lot of talented and smart individuals.
Hospital has all the modern and latest technologies provided by the government.

Dislikes

Zero campus life. College without campus life is boring.
We don't have a College fest. College life without college fest is incomplete.
We have very less vacations. We just get around 30-40 days holidays if I have to sum up all holidays in a year.

Internships Opportunities:

We have internship after our final year that is 4th year. We get paid there around ?30000 per month. We get our village postings then that we have to serve for 1 year after completion of Mbbs where we get around ?40000-50000 per month.

After completing the final year exams .i.e.after 4.5 yrs of study, all the students have to go through a period of 1 year of a stipend in the hospital followed by 1 year of rural posting during which period every student is given a stipend of around 35000 rupees monthly.
