All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is an autonomous university in Guwahati, Assam, established in 2017 under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). It is one of the AIIMS in India and is recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI). AIIMS Guwahati offers admission to MBBS and B.Sc Nursing programs at the undergraduate level and MD and MS courses at the postgraduate level. AIIMS Guwahati offers an annual intake of 125 seats for MBBS, 60 seats for B.Sc Nursing and 35 seats for MD/MS programmes.

Admission to the MBBS program is based on merit in NEET UG. AIIMS Guwahati accepts scores in the AIIMS B.Sc Entrance Exam, followed by counselling for admission to B.Sc Nursing. Admission to MD and MS is offered twice a year based on merit in INI CET, followed by counselling conducted by AIIMS Delhi. Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

It is a central institute so it follows the curriculum of MBBS accordingly. It is an autonomous institution so plans things accordingly. There are postings in hospital in each and every clinical and para clinical subjects so it gives a very good approach for patient interaction. Also there is internship for one year so it'll be very helpful for real life experience. As there are tutorials which are taken in a theoretical way...I'll say to make it more practical approach like dividing in group and bed side teaching. Exams are taken as and when needed which is good in a way to prepare for the finals but the syllabus should be divided appropriately.

Campus internship opportunities and stipend

As for internship they will be internship in the hospital for 1 year in this college only and we will have to do it as it is mandatory. The stipend for every month in internship is around 30000 rupees in AIIMS.

Total fees of the course and scholarship

Scholarships are there on many websites and tution fee is very less as it is only Rs. 5856/- for the whole course along with mess fee only. The complete cost of education along with all the hostel and mess will be around 3-3.5 lakhs.

Students views about the campus life

The campus life is very good as there is greenery in the campus everywhere and there is dining hall inside also there is medical College and hospital at a walkable distance and also there is playground where we are having a basketball court tennis court badminton court. Also there are carrom board, chess, table tennis and many more, so we can also enjoy indoor games. What I find difficulty is that there is no cafe inside the campus so we face difficulty in having good food outside mess.

What are facilities available in the college hostel?

Hostel is mandatory for all the students and there is double occupancy for students from starting of their course till 7th sem for boys after which they will get single occupancy room and for girls it is up to 2nd sem after which they will get single occupancy room from 3rd sem. There is no extra hotel fees apart from the whole total course fees which is about 5856/-. We have to pay for mess for our food which is around 150 rupees per day. Meal quality is average as sometimes it is good and sometimes it is bad. Menu is changed every month by the mess representatives who are from each and every batch and they contribute in mess related stuff.

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

All the faculty members are very well qualified as most of them have done super speciality in some subjects. Faculty to student ratio is average as there are less faculties as the college is new. It's almost about 1 teacher on 10 to 15 students. Every teacher has a unique way of teaching and almost every faculty is good in their way. Case based study is there which is very helpful for us medicos. We can approach teachers as and when we want. They are very supportive.

What is the admission process of the college?

Admission process was very smooth and step-wise approach was there. After counselling of neet there will be admission process regarding various rounds and after that according to the cut off and the marks you are good you will get your admission in the college. In 2020 as it was a new institute so the cutoff force around 630 marks and after stay vacancy round the last admission was on 608 marks for OBC. Reservation benefits were there as you can get this police on low marks if you have OBC or SC or ST reservation.

Admission to MBBS courses is based on NEET UG scores followed by counselling. Candidates with valid scores in the AIIMS B.Sc Entrance Exam are selected for the B.Sc Nursing program. For UG Admission, candidates must have 10+2 in PCB with 55% aggregate. AIIMS Guwahati offers 125 seats and 60 seats are offered for MBBS and B.Sc Nursing respectively. Candidates with an MBBS degree are eligible for MD and MS courses at AIIMS Guwahati. Admission to MD / MS courses is based on INI CET scores conducted by AIIMS Delhi. The intake capacity for MD / MS courses is 35 seats annually.
