Course Curriculum Overview
MBBS is a four & a half year UG course. There are total 19 medical subjects in the course. There are 3 subjects biochemistry, physiology and anatomy in the first year. Second year course contain pathology, microbiology, forensic medicine & pharmacology. Third year contain ENT, ophthalmology, preventive medicine. In final year there is medicine, surgery, pediatrics & gynaecology.
Placement Experience
All the students who pass the final year MBBS examination have to do one year essential internship duty and after that one year rural posting. All the doctors get into very good placements in different hospitals across the country.
College Events
Every year the students Union of GMCH organise the annual cultural fest known as the SYNCHISIS. Every year freshman social competition is organized to inaugurate the new comers. Saraswati puja is celebrated every year in the GMCH auditorium complex. All the festivals are celebrated in the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of the college is very much feasible. In first year we have to pay 28000 as admission fees and in the second year 8000, in third year 9000 and finally 10000 in the final year MBBS. The hostel borders should pay additional 1700 as mess dues per month.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes I have selected for Ishan Uday scholarship. This scholarship is given by the central government to the north Eastern students.
Campus Life
The GMCH is located in a very nice area in the metropolitan city Guwahati of the state Assam. Near the college there is a hill known as narakasur which gives additional beauty to this College. The hospital provides best patient care in the north Eastern area.
Hostel Facilities
Yes I have opted for the hostel. All the facilities are provided nicely by the authority & we have to pay only 1700 as mess dues per month. No any hostel fees are there. It is a fully government hostel. The hostel contain playground, TT board, badminton court & everything that one student need.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students of the college are very helpful & it is a fully ragging free College. Seniors teach the juniors how to take care of the patients.
Admission
One should have to appear for an entrance examination i. e. NEET-UG entrance examination. I have got 584 marks out of 720 & got selected in GMCH on 16th may 2016. This medical college is the best Medical College not even in the state but also in the whole north Eastern area.
Faculty
All the 19 subjects of GMCH have excellent faculties. They try hard to train the students and make them one of the best doctors of the country. They provide practical knowledge in the hospital taking patients as example. Theory classes are taken in the lecture hall complex. Seminar & assignments are also discussed properly.
