JGLS B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) FAQs

Q1. Is LNAT-UK the only exam accepted for B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) admission at JGLS? Can I use CLAT or LSAT scores?

A1. Yes, LNAT-UK is the only accepted entrance test for the 5-year integrated programmes (B.Com. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B., and B.A. LL.B.) at JGLS. CLAT, LSAT, or any other test scores are not accepted for these programmes. CLAT/CUET/JSAT Law scores are only accepted for the 3-year BA degree programmes and LLM at JGLS.

Q2. Can I take the LNAT-UK test more than once in a cycle?

A2. No. You can only sit the LNAT-UK test once per cycle (September to June). If you sit it twice, the later sitting is automatically invalidated. LNAT results also cannot be carried forward from one academic year to the next, so you must retake the test if reapplying in a later year.

Q3. Is hostel accommodation mandatory at JGLS for B.Com. LL.B. students?

A3. Hostel accommodation is not mandatory, but JGLS is a fully residential campus and most students opt for on-campus accommodation. The accommodation charges are Rs. 2,31,100 per annum and other allied services (food, laundry, etc.) are Rs. 1,24,900 per annum. Students who do not opt for hostel will only pay tuition fees and the security deposit.

Q4. What is the difference between B.Com. LL.B. and B.A. LL.B. or B.B.A. LL.B. at JGLS?

A4. The B.Com. LL.B. integrates commerce, accounts, and taxation law with core legal subjects, making it ideal for students interested in corporate taxation, financial law, and compliance. B.B.A. LL.B. focuses on business administration with law, while B.A. LL.B. blends humanities and social sciences with law. All three are 5-year programmes with the same tuition fee structure and LNAT-UK admission process.

Q5. How does the scholarship process work at JGLS? When should I apply?

A5. Scholarships at JGLS are awarded on a merit-cum-means basis, evaluated on LNAT-UK scores and parental ITR. Scholarships range from 10% to 75% of tuition fees. Since scholarships are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, applying during the Early Admissions phase (before 28 February 2026 for 2026-27) significantly improves your chances. The scholarship application form is available at https://forms.gle/P2MxR7fnaqnhk7J77.

Q6. What career options are available after completing B.Com. LL.B. from JGLS?

A6. The B.Com. LL.B. programme opens doors to careers as corporate lawyers, tax consultants, legal compliance officers, in-house counsels at banks and financial institutions, and legal advisors at accounting/auditing firms. Many graduates also join top-tier law firms like AZB Partners, Khaitan & Co., and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. The commerce background gives B.Com. LL.B. graduates an edge in taxation law, capital markets, and financial regulatory roles compared to general law graduates.

The fees is pretty steep, 6.25 LPA and the it's a residential campus, so, we have to stay in the hostel, which is another 2,80,000 so, can round it off to 10 LPA. There's a lot of things available in campus, good crowd and all too.
