So for admission into the NLUs, you gave to give CLAT. I took CLAT in December 2023 and secured a reputable rank which got me into NLSIU in the general category. For the general category, the university accepts admissions up to rank 100 (a safe rank) however, it varies for different categories, the information for the same can be accessed on their respective websites. While applying for CLAT we had to prepare a preference list, I had NLSIU on my no 1 so I got the same. Anyone who has appeared for 12th or is appearing in the current year can apply.

Admission process is through CLAT. The registration can be done through the consortium for CLAT's website. The exam is conducted once every year and is based on logical reasoning, English, math, legal reasoning and GK.

The admission was through the CLAT examination. It was conducted online for us due to COVID-19 and was a 150-mark test covering English, GK, legal aptitude, logical reasoning, and maths. The cut-off for NLS was around 90 for the general category students. The eligibility for the exam is 12th. The application form is available on the CLAT consortium website and for us, the fee was 4000 in 2020. After the announcement of results, there are lists of published college-wise and then you have to fulfill the requirements of that particular college such as submission of documents, and filing of some forms and undertaking. The pattern and conduct of the admission exam were good. There were no discrepancies or issues with the same.
Common Law Admission Test. That's what you need to put yourself, to get in NLSIU. It's a national exam, conducted every year. Though the 2023 exam is going to be conducted on 18 Dec, 2022, classes will begin from 2023 obviously.
Relatively low faculty student ratio. One teacher for every 80 student batch. Faculty are all quite qualified. However some of the subjects have become outdated in the teaching methods. Some subjects have fallen prey to mere rote learning. Midterm exams and endterm exams present in every 3-month trimester. Some subjects have very high failure rates, such as 66% failure
This university possess a different course curriculum when compared to other law schools in the country. It uses a trimester system where 4 courses are taken up in a span of 3 months. As we faced a zero year situation due to the pandemic, we were given 5 courses for our first Trimester. We had courses like Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Legal Methods and Torts. We possess faculty who are extremely insightful and are luminaries at their respective courses. We have a mix of young and experienced professors which help us in having fruitful discussions during the class.
Well i had a lot of subjects in my grad with around 5 -6 subs in each semester 3 years of studies worse was when a same lecturer used to handle multiple subjects and literally received no support from any faculty in fact all the faculty were behind the students to find any shall mistake and doubts.
The faculty of this college hold experience of several years. They are filled with passion and enthusiasm to deliver quality education to the students. The faculty always guided me to make the right decision in every field.
The faculty is highly experienced and helpful. The curricular is innovative and up to date. A Socratic method is used to teach in the class along with the specially curated reading material so as to make the course curricular relevant to the changing times. The focus is on the practical application and the professional experience. Due to the system of electives students, we also have an opportunity to choose their subjects and faculty which is not possible in other law colleges.
Good curriculum, we did have good field exposure but industry exposure was missing. Faculty has been top notch in their fields and put in a lot of efforts to teach us. There has been an undue pressure with respect to academics sometimes but it can be handled with more focus.

Law is a profession that promises a lot of versatility. According to some of my friends who opted for Law, you can pursue a number of avenues if you have a degree in law. Some of them include:
Last but not the least; you can try your hand in litigation: This is the most traditional form of law practice. You will have to go to courts, interact with clients, address the jury and judges, etc. This will get you a lot of clout.
One of my friends studied in NLSIU Bangalore, before that she lived in Bangalore for 28 years. According to her, the first thing to mention is yes, it is absolutely safe.
Do not get influenced by the media when they talk about a certain place, there could be other intentions for claiming that. But as she lived there she knows that it is perfectly safe for women.
The location might make you feel lonely because the campus is next to Bangalore university and there are few other central government offices. On the other side, it is completely residential.
The culture of Bangalore is very welcoming and it has given homes to lakhs of people coming in from other states and it is capable of delivering a good livelihood.
It is suggested that you do not come to any conclusion just by information provided in the media. Analyze every aspect and make your decision accordingly.
Basically, the greatness of the law school is defined by the academics, faculty, alumni, and infrastructure. NLSIU Bangalore is the only law school that owns 6 dedicated rooms for moot courts that are one of the most basic requirements for a law student, and a library that contains more than 50,000 volumes.
The students of the college have won many national and international moot courts along with their placements in decent corporates, law firms, and government institutions. Also, many students cracked civil services examinations and even reached abroad today.
NLSIU Bangalore is the place that takes the best out of every student by providing all the necessary opportunities that a law student requires that help them to reach the apex of success.
NLSIU is the best college for law in the country. So, there will be tough competition for securing admission. Here are some tips to prepare well in six months.
Preparation for NLSIU is doable in six months with strategic planning. But don’t discard your other options, it is essential to apply to other institutions for varied opportunities. Everyone should keep a backup in hand.
It is very difficult to compare NLSIU with all the other law colleges in the world. But one thing’s for sure it is not among the best institutes around the world.
But every NLS graduate receives immense opportunities, including pursuing Masters from top law schools and practicing at the best law firms across the world. Therefore, it can be said that NLSIU is one of the best law colleges in the country.
NLSIU is one of the top law schools in India, and it is difficult to get into. A general category student should at least get a score of 100 in CLAT UG for NLSIU. The anticipated CLAT cutoff for admission to NLSIU Bangalore in 2025 is a score of 90 or more. The quota students can expect certain relief in this cutoff requirement.
The CLAT result and the CLAT counselling process together determine admission of a candidate into NLSIU Bangalore for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. programs.
Here is the 2024 CLAT cutoff rank for BA LLB (Hons.) admissions at NLSIU Bangalore (Fourth Allotment List):
