- The campus is best in diversity, the crowd is diverse and literally the best of the best.
- The campus is going through a major expansion project and the updates are something to really look forward to, the infrastructure is state of art and they've made the campus accessible for everyone.
Dislikes
- The administration is sometimes very arbitrary and takes decisions without consulting the student body, and charges students for literally everything!
- The network connectivity in hostels in really bad, you somtimes might have to leave you room to make calls, therefore heavy dependency on wifi (which is very slow most of the times)
Placement Experience:
Out of all the law schools in India, NLSIU has the best placement so yes that's something to look forward to! Almost all Tier 1 firms come to NLSIU for placements the university has its own campus recruitment committee, and most students bag PPOs. However, the options after college are not limited to this, and many students prepare fr civil services exams or practice as advocates, or go for the judiciary.

Placement Experience:
By the end of 4th Year, you're eligible to sit for placements. Tier 1 Law firms like Khaitan, S&R associates, Trilegal, CAM, SAM etc are the major employers. Highest package usually comes from the offers by the Magic Circle firms which are international legal firms, nearly 80L Nearly a 100% placement percentage, given that it is the top law school in the country. I plan on going for corporate after my degree.

- I really liked the structure of courses throughout the five years. They are also rigorous with constant connections to study material, projects and critical end term exams. The professors are highly trained with well-equipped knowledge of the law.
- The NLS classrooms are well built to facilitate Socratic method of teaching. They are equipped with ACs, and projectors. The newly rebuilt NLS library is one of its kind with books across streams and courses.
Dislikes
- The administration could be more supportive to the students in numeral ways, whether regarding residence life, participation in extra curricular activities by providing attendance condonation.
- The campus life at NLS used to be more engaging in the past with many events taking place and lesser restrictions that allowed student body to enjoy campus life.
Placement Experience:
The placements of our batch are going to take place next month. Till now, about 45% of the batch have received PPOs from law firms and companies. In the past, the placement record at NLS has been excellent with almost everyone who sits for placements receiving an offer from law firms or companies. Top law firms such as CAM, SAM, Trilegal, AZB, Khaitan, Saraf, Indus, ICUL, Veritas Legal, Touchstone, etc. visit NLS for placements and also offer PPOs to those interning with them. The median package offered is Rs. 17 lakh and the highest goes till 24 lakhs. I myself have received a PPO from Trilegal and is to join the firm in its corporate practice from 2025.

4th and 5th years. Average package probably around 20 lakhs/annum. Foreign placements also available. High placement percentage for those wishing to go for corporate law

In 2019, 44 students were provided placements on Day Zero and 23 students got pre-placement offers. The highest salary package was 18 LPA and lowest salary package was 12 LPA. Companies such as Bajaj Allianz, DLF Limited, Reliance Power, SEBI, SBI, Tata Motors etc. and law firms such as L&L Partners, AZB Partners, Amarchand and Mangaldoss, etc. provided job opportunities

Placements are allotted according to the marks they secure in there plus two. Students ability to take up the projects and work honour 8 in the best way will be guided from the lecturers. Internship courses are also available in the college.SO they are opportunities are very good.

There was a legal counsel in the law firms and companies like the Deutsche bank, Luthra and Luthra, Amarchand Mangaldas. The internship stipend offered was a minimum of 7, 000 for a month. The placement cell is also very efficient and ensures that everyone has an opportunity for the good internships. The alumni network also guarantees the internship to the students.

Placement opportunities depend on each batch. Mostly social sector does not rely on a lot of contacts and connections for jobs and hence the job search is a crucial and difficult task. Also since it's a new course the recognition is relatively lesser.

What is the average placement package of the top law universities like VIZ NLSIU, NALSAR and NUJS?
In the top three law schools, the placement scenes are fantastic.
In terms of placement, WBNUJS has been doing really well. In the past, it has received 100% placement (not inclusive of those who do not sit for placements). The graduating class of 2020 received offers for all 78 participants who participated in the recruitment process.
With 30 students taking Day Zero in NALSAR, a total of 28 offers were offered, with 17 being accepted.
Last year at NLSIU, 47 final-year students who opted for it were hired by 19 businesses. The average remuneration package was about Rs 18 lakhs. In 2020, 40 job offers were made during NLSIU's day zero recruitment, which set a record.
The average salary at each of the top three law schools is nearly identical. Domestic and international firms pay different amounts for traineeships, with the average foreign firm package ranging from INR 38 lakhs to 44 lakhs and the average domestic firm package ranging from INR 8 lakhs to 18 lakhs.
Also, it's not only about attending one of the top three law schools; possibilities abound and are available to students from all law schools. If you are dedicated and hardworking, you will find a place at the top.

How much salary does a grad from NALSAR NLSIU grabs?
According to NALSAR placements 2020 highlights, the median CTC for BA LLB students was INR 16.50 LPA. The median CTC for LLM students was INR 8.50 LPA. During NLSIU Bangalore placements 2020, the participating firms offered salary packages in the range of INR 15 LPA to INR 18 LPA.
So, as an entry level associate, you will be earning in the range of INR 15-17 LPA.
How are the placements for MPP in NLSIU?
One of my friends recently graduated from NLSIU. Here is his insight on the placements at NLSIU.
- There is no placement cell in the institute. Students get placed through a student-led body called RCC (recruitment coordination committee). An average of 30 percent of students get placed. Around 50 percent don’t have a proper job secured during graduation.
- The institute has its reputation however the course and curriculum provided by the institute don’t prepare you for any corporate job. Getting into the top company is only possible if you are in the top 5 of a strength of 70 people in the class. You will have a chance of getting into the big four, i.e. EY, KPMG, Deloitte, etc. as policy professionals. But don’t expect to get into IGOs like the World Bank or UN.
- According to the recent placement highlights at NLSIU, the L&L Partners made 12 placement offers. Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Trilega made 7 placement offers while Cyril Amarchand made 1 placement offer. Companies like ICICI Bank, Societe Generale, Khaitan, AZB & Partners made less than 5 offers each. In 2020, the highest CTC offered at NLSIU was 18 LPA.
The employment space for MPP professionals is opening up with time and if you have the required skills you will have decent opportunities along the line. But you will need to approach top companies through platforms such as LinkedIn.

What is the average package of NLSIU Bangalore after doing an LLM?
As most of these LLM graduates start off on the academic side of things, the pay grade is equivalent to that mandated by the UGC for all institutions in all states. You can get a job role for an Assistant Professor or the likes.
However, this does not stand true for Private Institutes that hire LLM graduates. They most times than not, do not pay more than the government institutes. But it all depends on your personal choice and the kind of work environment you would like to be in.
You can always consult with the immediate batches to understand the current standings on the placement front. Connect with them one-to-one and you might get a better and clearer idea of what to expect.
Which is a better college, IITKGP or NLSIU Bangalore, in terms of reputation and placements?
For a law degree, NLSIU Bangalore is a better choice. IITs are the top institutions for an Engineering degree.
- IIT Kharagpur offers an L.L.B. (Hons.) in Intellectual Property Law. The total course fee is INR 3,55,100. The placement figure in 2021 states that the L.L.B. placement percentage for IIT Kharagpur is a mere 1%.
- NLSIU offers a B.A.L.L.B. (Hons.) and an L.L.B. (Hons.) program. The total course fee for L.L.B. (Hons.) program is INR 7.61 Lakhs, and it is INR 9,06,975 for B.A.L.L.B. (Hons.) program.

Who gives a higher placement package: NLSIU Bangalore or IIM Ahmedabad?
NLSIU Bangalore offers campus placement for its five-year flagship law degree program. IIM Ahmedabad offers campus placement for postgraduate management students. As IIM Ahmedabad is a post-graduate institution, one can assume that the pay package will be significantly higher.
Furthermore, the applicant and student pool at IIMA would be far more diverse than that of NLSIU. They will have mastered and will exhibit a higher, broader range of skill sets. As a result, IIM Ahmedabad placement packages will be dynamic and more competitive.
What is the average package provided by cooperate law firms to undergraduates graduating from NALSUI and NALSAR?
Usually, six of India’s major corporate law firms offer around 1,00,000 to 1,15,000 as a monthly remuneration at the entry level. Apart from that, there is generally a yearly bonus of around 1 to 2 Lacs.
An average entry-level associate usually earns around 14 Lakhs Per Annum which is a good amount nonetheless. Apart from that, there are a variety of other institutes that pay somewhat in the same range, if not equal.
Only recently, there are multiple mid-tier firms that are generating comparable packages. However, foreign law firms comparably pay a higher amount. The packages sometimes range around INR 40,00,000 per annum. In simple words, this is the basic remuneration they generate for fresh graduates, which gets higher with your experience.
The opportunities are open equally for different law schools, let alone NLSIU and NALSAR.
Does NLSIU have a good placement record?
NLSIU has a good placement record in law. All the tier 1 and tier 2 law firms visit the campus of NLSIU for recruitment. NLSIU Bangalore has not released the placement report for 2023 and 2024 till now.
According to the NIRF report 2023, the median package offered to the NLSIU BA LLB (Hons.) students was INR 16 LPA in 2022. In the same year, the median package offered to the LLM students of NLSIU Bangalore was INR 8.25 LPA. During NLSIU Bangalore placements in 2022, 65 out of 76 BA LLB (Hons.) students and 22 out of 40 LLM students were placed.
