The institute was inaugurated by the first president of India Dr.Rajendra Prasad in presence of various government officials and other judges. The government of India granted the status of the deemed university to ILI in 2004. The institute offers LLM, Ph.D., postgraduate in diploma, and online certificate programs. The application mode is online for admission in the various programs available at ILI.
One needs to visit the official site of ILI for submitting the form and have to do the payment of the registration fees according to the particular course.
Eligible students have to appear for the entrance exam and interview (only for Ph.D.) and based on the marks obtained and presentations admission will be done.
Admissions for the postgraduate Diploma programs are done based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations.5% extra weightage is given to law graduates/CMA/CS/CA.

1)Merit scholarship
INR 30000 per annum is given to the first two students based on the merit list of the All India Admission test of one year LLM degree program.
2) Merit-cum-Means scholarship:

3) Gold Medals to Meritorious students:

Central library: Central library is one of the well-known libraries in the country. It is a part of the National Digital Library of India. It contains around 81000 volumes.190 periodicals are received there with serial publications. A facility of the digitized data about the availability of books, journals, reports, publications is provided through OPAC. It creates a well-equipped environment for visually impaired students with the help of pearl instant reader, JAWS talking software, music player, Radio cum voice recorder, etc.
Legal Information Research Centre (LIRC): The institute has established LIRC with the latest technology computers, printers and Wifi connectivity. Legal information related to case laws, legislations, constitutions, Legal articles can be received at the centre, Anti-plagiarism Software and URKUND are also available there.

ILI consists of very reputed and highly qualified faculties with degrees like P.hD and masters in law. The director head of the college prof Dr. Manoj Kumar Sinha has published many articles on international human rights, constitutional laws and various other areas in the national and international journals.
Mrs. Lotika Sarkar who was an Indian feminist and pioneer in the field of women Studies and Rights has also been a teacher at ILI.

The course curriculum is very interesting and very much focused. The program is for one year only. As the course is quite lengthy it sometimes leaves you with a hectic day but of course, you can easily manage time for your self-study and other things.
The course curriculum is permeable because it is been taught very well. It is a one year program and not leave you as a much hectic day but as the competition, there is slightly tough, so one must maintain a good level of study from starting.
The curriculum is well structure and very competitive . the curriculum is more focused on the research that is the motto of this university. LLM have more research focused curriculum than other courses offered by the university. Attendance is mandatory in this university to sit in the main exams and they make up of small fraction your total aggregated marks. Your marks will be based attendance, seminar, class test and assignment& presentation. In the last semester , a dissertation and viva-voce will added along with rest above mentioned things
The curriculum is well structure in such a way to give the glimpse of the wider aspects of the course if a student want to study further to get a degree in law. The curriculum is more focused on the laying the foundation and getting students acquaintance to the law field No exam is there in online course.
The course of LLM is of the total duration of 1 year program having 2 semesters in total. The course of LLM is totally based on research. Here in this course program , we are enhancing our existing knowledge as well as research on law and administration begins from here. Semester exams are conducted in May/December. Regular visit of courts are scheduled buy the university.
The college puts a great deal of efforts into research based learning. They have very well planned lectures so that there is no rushed learning. Every concept is explained with great care by the faculty.
The course curriculum for my llm 2 yr was different and more vast but you has now been changed to one year llm course which has slightly compact syllabus. ILI majorly focuses on research skills and improves a student's research knowledge by helping it grow and be efficient.
The course is designed specifically with more stress on research based learning. It is very vast and we gain a lot of knowledge about the social aspects of society, the human rights and more. The exams are tough and one must be thorough to get good grades.
For this course, the structure of the curriculum has been set up to build a strong base and educate the students more about this course in a more advanced manner. It is research-oriented and job-oriented at the same time.
LLM is one of the most emerging career option . There is ample of opportunity once you completed this course like litigation, personal lawyer, coperate law , law firms , legal advisor of companies , apart from that one can move in politics , journalism, MBA, n many more .

Indian Law Institute - [ILI], New Delhi offers Post Graduate Diploma, and certification courses in cyber law. Minimum qualification for admission to the P.G. Diploma Programmes is a Graduate Degree from a recognised University. 5% weightage will be given to the Law Graduates/CA/CMA/CS for admission to all Post Graduate Diploma Programmes.
