My expierence in IISER BHOPAL

Likes

The infrastructure is amazing compared to other colleges.
It has best sports facility with all sort of sports included except swimming.
The labs and tools provided are just amazing.

Dislikes

Mess system should be converted into pay n eat
The campus is in outskirts of the city .
No easy access to outside city without travelling min 12 kms.

The curriculum is basically designed to prepare you and your brain for thinking about real world problems and applying the concepts into them thus trying to solve them , study methods are good and vary as per professor.

IISER BHOPAL : A HOME FOR MANY

Likes

College Campus is very good. Clean and well maintained. Hostels are good. There are multiple dining places in campus.
Faculty is helpful and professional, well versed with their field, and generally well experienced from abroad.
Get to meet people from various fields and experiences, from other universities and countries. Academic events are frequent.

Dislikes

Campus is far away from main city. have to travel atleast 15km to get to railway station.
Many things in campus are still under construction.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum trains students in various research fields, including lab and theory. The course prepares a student to get either a industry position, or PhD position. The course curriculum can be improved by porividing more exposure to students who havent experienced, these fields. Exams are good, easy if youve understood the course content. These exams are based on a wide information of the topic, and are not limited to just one textbook.

International and National level exposure is availed by many BSMS students itself from 2nd year onwards.
The proffesional labs are literally the best in the world. They try to inculcate the promotion of science through the exposure.
The proffs are highly qualified and their Letter of recomendations matters a lot.

Dislikes

Administration is very rude and they misbehave also
The security in our campus is so strict which makes me feel like I am in a jail sort of thing.
Some of the proffs are literally not student friendly.

We have a relatively better course structure, but what i think is IISER Pune has the most advanced sort of curriculum which gives them a better advantages and helps in their NIRF Ranking also. All the courses should be type of open elective.

The infrastructure is outstanding, with almost all sports facilities, equipped gym, nice hostels.
The labs are well equipped with all instruments necessary. More focus is paid towards overall learning, both experimental and theoretical.
The professors and instructors are experts in their respective fields, and are approachable and open for discussions.

Dislikes

The placement scenario is not so nice, as most students prefer to take a PhD position instead of a corporate offer.

Placement Experience:

Only final-year students are eligible for campus placements. most students at iiserb are research orinented, so even though the institute has a placement cell, not many students take corporate offers. They usually end up taking PhD positions across the globe. The companies that usually come for their placement drive are Barklays, Dr. Reddy's Lab, Nomura, Delloite, SBI. The highest package was approx 28lpa, and the median package is approx 8lpa.

The first year course includes Maths , programming, biology, chemistry, physics, PET 2nd year students have oppertunity to choose 3 premajors of their interest. However each subject have a capping of 150. The last three years of degree is for the major subject.

A brief and simple review on Iiser Bhopal

The campus is really good! There is also a hillside for spending time and sightseeing.
There are loads of social activities for students. Everymonth we get to celebrate different festivals. Their are various clubs depending upon the interests of the students.
The sports facility of IISERB is unparallel. We have got coaches for almost every sports

Dislikes

There are many formalities to be done for a simple requirement. We have to take permissions from the Students affairs for having a meeting with our junior batches.

Placement Experience:

Mostly the students here don't go after placements. They usually carry their Phds after they get graduated from here. Just doing Masters is not enough nowadays to get a good job in any of the scientific fields. Iiser bhopal has launched its own placement cell recently

IISER Bhopal a boon to research.

Likes

Knowledge of each faculty and their in-depth analysis which helped students to learn more.
Infrastructure and the research facilities and spacious campus
Good facilities like hostel and sport activities along with academics

Dislikes

Below average mess facilities so students have to rely on outside food.
Hectic Schedule which left students with less time for other activities.
No campus selection for jobs so students need to find it by themselves.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum and it's provisions like time availability are a matter of both pride and concern. Since the curriculum has a spacious time in between but during exams all of a sudden everything gets burdened up. It though prepares us for time management and stress management but still the end time hurdling should be taken care of. The exams are Quizzes 1 then mid sems then Quizzes 2 and end semester. With the difficulty level depends on the professor.

BEST COLLEGE FOR RESEARCH IN INDIA.

Likes

The campus environment is very beautiful including academics and extra activities.
Its quite unique here, you can be in touch with seniors and faculty members in which area you would like to do research.
Teaching here very practical which includes all laboratory infrastructure. professors will help in many aspects to grow.

Dislikes

climate may be change in some point of time.
Some departments are quit hard to study.
some professors could be serious at some point.

Placement Experience:

Here, many students go to abroad for their higher studies so most students don't focus on placement. for those students who want to get a job we have a placement cell that conducts all the company interview
