A brief and simple review on Iiser Bhopal

The course curriculum is very good here. We get exposed to all the Sciences in our first years which may help us to do interdisciplinary reseaeches in future. The students may be grade absolutely or relatively depending upon the professors who take the course. There are dedicated Teaching Assistants for every course who are mostly pursuing their Phds in the respective fields.

Our college has different tie-ups with universities in abroad like France, Canada, Japan,etc. Second year and above students are encouraged to do summer or winter internships. We are given 3 months summer holidays for us to do internships.

Mostly the students here don't go after placements. They usually carry their Phds after they get graduated from here. Just doing Masters is not enough nowadays to get a good job in any of the scientific fields. Iiser bhopal has launched its own placement cell recently

Our per semester fees is 49,800Rs . So for one year there are two semesters and we have to to pay around 1 lakh rupees per year. For Sc,st and obc categories the semester fees is around 16,000Rs . They have to pay around 78,000 Rs lesser per annum

My overall experience has been great till now celebrating annual and technical festivals. Enthuzia is the annual fest and Armageddon is the technical fest held every year. Library is well established with a wide range of books available for the students. The Sports facilities is extremely good with each sports having their respective coaches.

Each room has two study tables, two study lamps, One almirah, two book shelves, and two beds. Most of the UG students have to share the room with another person. The mess is neither bad nor good. The food quality can be rated around 7/10. Their are a total of 8 hostels and 6 Dining Halls in the campus.

I was getting Central Universities by giving the CUET exam but I chose IISER Bhopal because it has a wide range of activities other than just academics. I knew some seniors who had completed their graduation in Iiser Bhopal so I talked to them before joining here. Admission is given on the basis of your merit rank in the Iiser Aptitude Test. There are several rounds of counselling before all the seats get filled up.

The faculty to students ratio is around 1:4 for the UG students but it varies from department to departments. The faculties do generally encourage the students to visit there office whenever they have queries. But there are some faculties who do not interact much with the students whose names cannot be taken here.
