Course Curriculum Overview

The first year course includes Maths , programming, biology, chemistry, physics, PET 2nd year students have oppertunity to choose 3 premajors of their interest. However each subject have a capping of 150. The last three years of degree is for the major subject.

Internships Opportunities

You can apply anywhere in India as well as abroad. Inspire scholarship students can have the opportunity of stipend 20000 for internship. Obviously Letter of recommendation (LOR) is required also SOP, CPI, and CV matters a lot.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees - 49800/- per semester. So basically one semester is 4 months. The tuition fees is 34000/- For SC ST students the fees is much less than normal. It is around 20000/- per semester This fees mentioned above is including development fees.

Campus Life

The campus life is very good. We celebrate a lot of festivals of different communities. Eg. Janmastami, ganesh puja , onam, pana sankranthi, holi , saraswati puja, lohri, fine arts and letter We also have singularity as annual science fest

Hostel Facilities

Each room has two tables, two beds, two chair, one almirah, two study lamps. It also includes fans and good air ventilation. We have common bathroom facilities. Girls are not allowed into boys hostels. Vending machine is available in each hostel. Food quality is good.

Hostel Fee: INR 10000 per year

Admission

This is very nice college. Biology department is very good here . This is the reason I applied for the college. The infrastructure is also very nice. Also IISER Bhopal is better than other iiser in many perspective.

Faculty

Faculty members are nice . But some of them are very strict. 75 percentage attendance is mandatory for giving exams. Normally the exam have three types Quizes, mid semester and end semester. Quiz have 10 percent Midsem have 30 percent End semester have 50 percent

A brief review of IISER Bhopal

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is very research driven, and it is very flexible too. Course is as per the New Education Policy and is relevant to modern industrial needs. However the Curriculum is all around Pure Sciences, like the B.Sc but just the college is much better than a normal BSc college. First two year is given to students to get along with subjects that they want to study in future, in the third year they choose their Majors. Quizzes are frequent and occurs biweekly, while Exams occurs every month and so.

IISER BHOPAL : A HOME FOR MANY

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum trains students in various research fields, including lab and theory. The course prepares a student to get either a industry position, or PhD position. The course curriculum can be improved by porividing more exposure to students who havent experienced, these fields. Exams are good, easy if youve understood the course content. These exams are based on a wide information of the topic, and are not limited to just one textbook.

My thoughts on IISERB

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I am just in my first year right now, the courses I have are fairly introductory. But since we have to study PCMB, Earth Science, Programming and a Humanities course just in the first year, it's fairly hard to manage. we have 2 quizzes, a mid sem exam and an end sem exam in each semester typically at the end of each consecutive month (4 month semester). The marking scheme, syllabus, paper pattern, time, difficulty etc are all subject to change according to the professor.

Placement Experience:

As it's a research institution, more emphasis is given to academia and research instead of placements. We have an active placement cell, but still, it's lackluster compared to engineering colleges. The average package hovers around 10 lpa, and only a handful of people get placements. Most opt for Phd or an MBA.

Knowing IISERB engineering sciences

Placement Experience:

Mostly from 8th semester onwards students become eligible for sitting in placements and getting preplacement offers in their applied companies. Companies like nomura Bank ,Barclays and Dr Reddy's lab have visited the campus in the past. Mostly all the students get placed because less number of student sitting for the placements. According to last year data around 31 lakhs per annum was the highest package and the average was around 10 lakhs per annum. My plan is to get into a foreign university for my higher studies.
