IISER Bhopal a boon to research.

The curriculum and it's provisions like time availability are a matter of both pride and concern. Since the curriculum has a spacious time in between but during exams all of a sudden everything gets burdened up. It though prepares us for time management and stress management but still the end time hurdling should be taken care of. The exams are Quizzes 1 then mid sems then Quizzes 2 and end semester. With the difficulty level depends on the professor.

There are not much internship opportunities for students in biological sciences and other pure sciences domain but engineering sciences peeps have some paid internship opportunities. Pure sciences people have to rely on unpaid internships in labs and other institutions or can get stipend in internship programmes like IAS and other institute funded internships.

Tuition fee is 48,400 per semester i.e. 96,800 per year and there has been hike in the fees per year of 3-4K but recently it's not yet seen. Scholarship provided are 1) KVPY (which can be availed by students who get into this college through KVPY) 2) INSPIRE scholarship (5K per month). The stipends are mostly not provided for campus employment.

There is an annual feast named Enthuzia every year and a science fest named Singularity. Also an Literary fest Arts and Letters is also held. Library has all sorts of books of each department and domain and be it fiction and academics all are present. There is a large spacious library for all. All classrooms are provided with smart classes and there are classrooms with all sizes available. Sports are best in IISER Bhopal. There is an annual intra IISER sports event Sangharsh and a inter IISER sports event IISM. All sports are available except Hockey. There are many clubs like sports and music and tourism and students find it relaxing there. It keeps them relaxed.

Hostel facilities are good enough though the space for accommodation of two in each room is quite getting congested but still it's better. Mess food is just I can say you can eat but taste is not up to the mark. Some messes are providing good food but some are really worth scraping out.

To be eligible you need to be in top 1 percentile of your respective 12th board. You can attemp the IISER entrance exams in the year you have passes 12th and the subsequent year. No other chance. You can apply for it at IISER admission site. You have three modes 1) KVPY exam 2)JEE advanced 3) IISER Aptitude Test. Reservation is helpful in decreased cutoff. But as I cleared the general cutoff I ain't aware of it . It's taken yearly and is in online mode. It's already a best option just timings should be improved. All four subjects PCMB are needed.

Faculty to student ratio is good enough 1:50 and thus each student has the focus of professor on himself/herself. Professors use all type of teaching aids like Computer centres and AIR rooms and smart classes and various others. Students can interact with professors as many as time as possible. And profs are always ready to help them.
