Beautiful campus, The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore boasts a stunningly beautiful campus
Mess food, Currently IISc has five messes with each mess having different menu style based on region.

Dislikes

Regarding the infrastructure I have a small complaint about the swimming pool

Placement Experience:

Campus placement conditions have improved in IISc after the inception of campus placement cell. Average package is around I would say 25 lpa. Since most of the students go for higher studies from IISc hence, you will see the placement percentage to be low. Personality I am also going for higher studies.

Life at IISc- Pros and Cons

Likes

Great peer group who are just like me, really interested to pursue research
Some professors who are very reachable at anytime to ask our doubts

Dislikes

It is necessary to study at least three subjects from PCMB for first three years

Placement Experience:

Most of the students after completing four years, continue to stay here to get Masters degree after one more year and pursue PhD from world renowned institutions. Very few people (<7/100) per batch will sit for campus placements and most of them will be selected with a good annual package of 30000 at an average. Some students, mostly Physocs majors can give government exams like ICRB, GATE to join ISRO and BARC as scientists

IISc Bengaluru: the premier research institute of India

Likes

The infrastructure of the campus: well built labs equipped with the latest technology, libraries with massive up to date collections, big classrooms equipped with projectors, a well built auditorium and sports complex.
Campus life: Campus has around 40 running clubs which include various extra curricular activites, regular cultural events are held including music nights, comedy shows and concerts.

Dislikes

Administration: Since the Institute is composed of masters and PhD students comprising 90% of the population, the issues of the Undergraduate community tend to get lesser attention owing to their small population
Academic load: Quizzes are held every week, sometimes surprises quizzes are held with no prior information. The assignments given require detailed solutions and contribute to the final grade. Hence the academic load is relatively high here.

Placement Experience:

Campus has a well functioning placement cell which assists students. Students are eligible to sit for placements in the last semesters, given that they have completed the required number of credits. However, a unique point about the institute is that since this is a research oriented institute, most students prefer to go for higher studies. Last year's data shows that only 6 students sat for placements, out of which 5 were placed with an average package of 15 lakhs per annum. The remaining vast majority of students went down two ways: either continuing to do their masters at IISc itself or going for PhD in their field. Out of 100 students, 60 students were accepted into prestigious international universities in the USA, Europe and Australia to conntinue their studies with a PhD and contribute to scientific research. The universities that accepted undergraduates from IISc ranged from University of Michigan to Oxford University to Caltech to University of Los Angeles and many more.

Fests, studies, curriculum, environment,weather etc

Dislikes

Hostel rooms need to be better. Classrooms of old dept needs to be better

Placement Experience:

3rd semester . Highest package in our department is 55 LPA and average is 33LPA. 100 percent placement. Nvidia,Qualcomm,Intel, AMD,analog devices, edge Q, Cisco, Texas instruments, synopsys and many more. In short companies can't find students as they require more students but students are less here. I am going for placements

B TECH (MATH AND COMPUTING) life at IISc

the atmosphere here in bengaluru is so pleasant and calm and campus is very green and calm which makes it very easy to concentrate and study
as the campus strength is very low and the area is so large most of the campus will be of big trees and animals and everyone here will participate in atleast one extra circular activities

Dislikes

the main thing I disliked is the mess allocation on the first time which I got north Indian mess but I couldn't adjust there but after a month i got successfully changed to south indian mess
as the b tech people are just a minority here and since the course started only in 2022 so some recognition will not be there apart from that there will be no problem

Course Curriculum Overview:

i choosen this course because of 2 factors i am instrested in computers and chemistry but i am good at maths also . In my josaa counselling i got IIT kanpur EE which is based on only electrical engneering i am not that much instrested in it so taking math and computers , I thought taking maths and computing in one of the best campuses in India is much more better (AIR 1 JEE ADVANCED ALSO took the same course) rankings : in prestigious QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS : IN overall : India's second best IISC IN reaseach : Worlds best ,IN CSA : Indias no 1 IISC's M TECH CSA programme has higher ranking than IIT BOMBAY CSA FACULTY STUDENT ratio is higher than ALL IITS Faculty are the best in India (arguably) bcz its INDIA's Prestigious Reaserch University in each semester there will be two semesters and in each semester we will have a mid exam , a final exam , and a quiz alternative perweek or sometimes once a week based on subject (grading tougher than IITS )

The wonderful fact about the campus is freedom.
The is full of greenery and super peaceful environment .

Dislikes

There were no much holidays for religious festivals.
Girls have entry into boys hostel but boys have no entry into girls hostel.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the college was good enough but many students wants to continue higher studies in abroad. After getting degree many students join in top universities like Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, etc.

Prosperity in iisc

The campus is full of greenery which makes it feel very good
The students are too friendly and helpful they guide us in diffrent aspects and help us to prepare for exams also

I Dislike That Academics Are A Bot Tougher Than Othe

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this choice because I had a core interest in PHYSICS. Here we have an excellent faculty-student ratio that is 6: 1. The faculties and the tutors are highly qualified and had been studied at renowned universities and did their phd there. The teaching method depends upon the faculty, some have old methods, and some have new methods. Timely exams are held every 1.5 months and are not so difficult.

My life at my college IISC

Placement Experience:

Best-in-industry placements are offered to the students. The median package stands at 20 lacs per annum to 35 lacs per annum. Companies like Google, Microsoft, meta, and Sony visit our campus. The highest package was 92 lakh per annum when I graduated.

Insightful Evaluation of Course Curriculum and faculty Members at IISc

You'll gain practical hands on experience through a variety of tasks and projects that you will be assigned as homework. The course framework are excellent, and there in ongoing assessment. The college placement record is excellent
Because iisc has so many companies plus government projects, you can only intern in college from may to june

Dislikes

Infrastructure, labs, students, professors, teaching methodology , and the worst aspect is that the course structure is very hectic until you become interested in your course.
All of my friends were having a good time with the arguably lighter course structure, as well as all of the DJ nights and the culture fest, while I was stuck with almost nothing.

A heaven for Research

it offers world class research program. highly advanced equipments are available. fellowships are also provided. campus is very beautiful, near ganga river

Dislikes

Faculties are very strict. Girls are not allowed after 6pm from hostel.otherwise everything is ok

Placement Experience:

from 4th semester students can sit in placement. this college promotes research work. so there are less no of peoples who actually sit for placements, others directly get admission in masters. highest package given was 60 lakhs and median was at 23 lakhs
