The duration of this course was two years. There were total four semesters in the entire course and every year two semesters. Giving exams was never so tiring because our professors had always tried to make learning interesting for us.

The course curriculum was tough. The minimum duration of the course was three years and the maximum duration was six years. The curriculum includes both core and elective courses. The curriculum involves extensive research and experiments. The curriculum includes theory, practicals, thesis work, comprehensive examination, field work, open seminars laboratory work etc. Thesis work need to be submitted at the end of the course.

The course curriculum was updated and modified regularly according to its recent technology. The curriculum was divided into six semesters which spreads over three years. The curriculum includes the study of life sciences based on biological science and research practicals. In the curriculum, we have to study about both theoritical and practical knowledge. The exam structure was also good. Final examinations are conducted twice in every six months.

All the Ph.D students are trained under a program which consists of course work, consisting of lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, demonstrations and project work. We had written and oral examinations.

The TIFR University has Ph.D. programs in all areas of natural sciences which consists of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Computer Science. The Ph.D. program that i had opted for was for five-years and mainly consisted of research papers and thesis.

The educational program at TIFR are comparable to the Master's courses in various IIT's.
