No. College was at a 1 hour distance by local train and road from my home. But as heard from mates, college rooms were clean, bathrooms were cleaned thrice a day, food quality was good (unlike other hostels). No one ever complained for food quality and stomach upsets. About the cost i cannot say that, but as heard nearly 50-75k for 2 years.
Hostels are good. Girls' hostel has an entry up to 9 pm. Boys have entry till 10.30 pm. In one room, two students are allowed to stay. Mess food is also good. Breakfast is provided, then lunch. Finally, dinner is served. Rice is provided mainly. Quality of food is nice. In girls' hostel, a microwave is provided. There is a common room in both the hostels. A television is kept in the common room.
Hostel was something which was available only for outside Kolkata students. The cost was 8000/ pm including food. However, the quality of the hostel was deplorable and I had heard recently that they have improved that quality. The facilities were minimal and sparse with basic amenities like light, fans (no A/c, Wi-Fi, etc). Since outside Kolkata studients were in large number, it was difficult getting a seat and one had to apply beforehand.
The library was very extensive. I have been a backbencher throughout my life. So it was just for 2 classes I sat in the first row. Otherwise I also used to sit at the library.
We had a lot of extracurricular which sharpened our skills.
The campus life is good zero ragging , the college canteen was good with articles not at all costly and affordable . There was no as such campus life as it was a very quite institute with almost no playgrounds , no tennis courts so do not expect anything fancy . However the class rooms do have air condition and are a relief for the hot summer in Calcutta
Central library is easily accessible. You can read books here& collect book for some days.
Every year E cell organize several cultural programme &sports department arrange annual sports event.
Gym & indoor games facilities are also available here with no extra charges
The infrastructure is a little outdated as it is the oldest B School. The annual fest is conducted by respective specialization departments and additional to this there is an entrepreneur committee which to conducts its fest. The Library is a whole junk house for the books but the system of issuing and submission of books is old dated.
the college is very old and the infrastructure is not very good. The benches and the tables are not in a good condition, as a whole the campass is not very good. The college needs immediate renovation.
Although the college provides hostel facilities for the students but its not included in the course fee and its not mandatory. Those who want they can opt for the hostel others don't. As I'm a resident of Kolkata I have not opted for hostel.
no I never opted for hostel because I stay in the same city since birth when my college was which is Kolkata so I never had an option to stay in hostel also I am very much comfortable with me at my house my parents never wanted me to shift to anywhere else so hostel was never an option for me.
