Overall the faculty was nice. Some of the professors were really good. I have always been a backbencher but during my Financial Management and strategic management classes, I used to sit in the first row.
Senior Mentors and Faculties with average experience over 15 years
Faculty:
The faculties are one of the best part of IISWBM . Our department head Binoy Krishna Chaudhuri is a very senior professional with over 30 years of experience in management especially Energy Management . He is an AEE centre head of our time and the courses are in sync national bodies like AEE , IEEE etc. The college generally starts sharp at 9 AM and the attendance is very strict unless you have over 75% of attendance there is no way you will be allowed to sit for the exams other than special request in case of medical exigencies . Now coming to examination , every paper of of 100 marks with 80 marks on written and 20 marks on internal . The internals are generally carried out just before the exams. The exams generally consists of 5 broad questions each marked at 15 marks each and remaining 15 marks is on MCQ . The time for writing the papers is three hours and every time it is home centre only with our facluties being the invigilator . If someone is looking to make a career from this institute it is suggested go for marketing or transport and logistics management as they give the best placement and have finest faculties who look deeply into student well being.
All the regular as well as visiting faculties have vast knowledge about the subjects they teach. Each one of them have academic as well as work experience in different fields which makes the classes more interesting and interactive. They helped us out cracking our interviews during placement.
The faculty of our college were really helpful and always ready to support us without any hesitation they were very much approachable and we had around 10-12 faculty members who were there to support us any time that the age was around 40 to 50 years and their humongous support helped us to complete a post graduate.
Daily 8 lectures for 2 years. Faculty with vast teaching experience over the years on same field. Guest lecturers were Industry stalwarts. Retired Govt officials of railway, shipping came ro provide lecturers. Examination is very tough and based on current topics and class room trainings.
Most of the college faculties are highly qualified professionals from top notched B-schools of Indian like IIMs. The way of teaching varies from faculty to faculty. While some lectures are very interesting to hear, some are so boring that you may fall asleep in the class. Teaching methods of most of the faculties are highly traditional and hence they resist changes, like cases related to implementing of well equipped laboratories and classroom gadgets.
Worst ever teacher in civil engineering department who also wants to go outside from this ugly cage as their pressure on teacher as well as students as their is more students to teacher ratio so they are in running through out from teachings you skills
Given a government institution, it has highly educated and renowned faculty. We had more than 20 odd lecturers thouroughout our course.
Some of the professors had books published which we used as guide books.
Doctor APJ Abdul Kalam had also visited us for a seminar/lecture.
Faculties are all well qualified and industry experts and they are very helpful. Most of them are experts in their field and sometimes, guest faculties come to take classes on special subjects as they are the industry experts.
They are helpful, You can seek help and take opinions from them anytime. The placement department helps you to find a internship. The faculty will guide you for the dissertation project which is very important.
