The curriculum involves all the courses, be it managerial technical, which will be required by management candidates once they join the industry. The reason why I chose this course is because I was aligned towards supply chain management, and this was the best institute for Supply Chain management in the country. The curriculum has a Trimester system with 3 Modules each year. The Curriculum provides a case-based study, which is quite helpful in getting knowledge about industrial problems and how to overcome these problems or how to find these solutions. Although the Curriculum is quite comprehensive, sometimes it feels like it is quite lengthy having 12 subjects in a module. The teaching methodology involves equal weightage to class participation. The exams are moderately difficult, but exams have too many subjects, which must be reduced to decrease the burden on students

The curriculum is mainly in the field of operations and supply chain domain. We are taught various subjects like optimization, AI/ML, data analytics, OB-HR, marketing, finance, ethics, economics etc. The student-faculty ratio is 70:1 The faculty have a good academic background and are highly experienced. Some of them have worked in the industry and have strong industry knowledge. Here we have modules and each module is of 3 months. We have a mid-term of 20 marks after 2 months and an end term in the last month. The paper is neither too difficult nor too easy. It doesn't contain direct questions. It's generally a case-based question paper.

Faculty members are well aware of the market trends and new concepts which are being used in the industry. The faculty-student ratio depends on the electives chosen by the candidate. More or less it is 1:70. Exams are easy and management is flexible to consider changes in the exam time table.

The most important thing you should know is which course will prove to be better for your career, rather than which is the best overall. As some of my friends are from NITIE Mumbai, I can give you a bit of information about PGDIE and PGDIM.
Therefore, it is suggested that you opt for the one that suits you the best. Ask yourself where your passion lies and will a management course or a technical course be beneficial for you.
The tuition fee for PGDIE at NITIE is 3.69 lakhs for the first year and 3.41 lakhs for the second year. This fee structure consists of your Hostel rent and other academic fees excluding mess fees.
Here is the detailed fee structure for PGDIE at NITIE.
Particulars | Total Amount (INR) |
Academic Fees | 6,60,000 |
Facilities Charge | 3,00,000 |
Student Welfare and Alumni Activities Charges | 1,33,000 |
Hostel Charges | 1,20,000 |
Deposits | 50,000 |
Total | 12,53,000 |
Furthermore, students from the reserved category are exempted from payment of Academic charges whose annual family income is less than Rs. 4.5 lakhs but then they shall have to pay all other fees, charges, and deposits.
For the sponsored category the tuition fees are two times and all other charges remain the same.
IIM Mumbai charges INR 21 Lakhs for the flagship MBA program for 2 years. It includes all the charges including INR 18 Lakhs tuition fees, hostel charges, alumni fees, and caution deposits.
For other MBA courses i.e. MBA in Operations and Supply Chain Management, the fees is INR 17 Lakhs for 2 years. The fees for an MBA in Sustainability Management is INR 20.48 Lakhs. The candidates should know that the fees are subject to change every year by around 10% - 20%. IIM Mumbai also offers various scholarships and financial aid to the eligible students to help reduce the financial burden of MBA pursuing students.
Yes, NITIE Mumbai gives fee concessions to the general category students also. The form of fee concession is merit cum need a form of scholarship.
The simple meaning of this merit cum need scholarship is that a student has to be eligible for some criteria to avail it. To be eligible, a student needs to maintain considerable academic aggregate and should be from an economically weaker background.
The range of scholarships is in the form of a 30% fee waiver for the students with an annual family income below INR 2.5 lakhs and a 50% fee waiver for the students with an annual family income below INR 1 lakh.
Excluding the scholarship, the students enrolled in the courses of PGDPM, PGDIE, and PGDMM avail of a stipend of around INR 12400.
My cousin's brother enrolled in NITIE last year. So I am well aware of this criteria. According to him it’s not very difficult.
If your family income is less than 2.5 lakhs, you can get a 30% tuition fee waiver, and if your family income is less than 1 lakh, you can get a 50% tuition fee waiver.
I have friends who study at NITIE Mumbai, and these are the 5 different courses the institute offers:
Moreover, PGDIM and PGDISEM are equivalent to MBA and require you to appear in CAT exam to enroll in either of them.
Other than these few, PGDIE, PGDPM, and PGDMM are equivalent to M.Tech. The admissions are followed by considering the GATE scores which also helps make students eligible for the regular stipend provided by the government to several of these GATE qualifiers.
NITIE offers 5 courses. These 5 courses are as follows.
You can make your choice according to your interest.
I can give you an idea about the cost of doing an MBA from NITIE as one of my friends is a student there. At present, the tuition fee for MBA is 11 lakhs for a period of 2 years.
Other than that, if you consider assuming Rs. 3500 as the average mess fees for a total of one month, then it sums up to Rs. 35,000 for a time period of 10 months (considering 2 months of vacation period).
The mess fee sums up to Rs. 80,000. The overall amount you might personally require can be 1 Lakh in a total of 2 years. Thus, it can possibly be around or over 13 Lakhs, if you go on to plan for a rather controlled cost vacation in NITIE.
I have a few friends who graduated recently from NITIE, so I think I can give you some information regarding the fee structure of the institute.
Although the fees I have mentioned are solely meant for Tuition Fees, this doesn't include mess fees which you need to pay separately.
My brother was enrolled in the PGDIE courses so I think I can give you the fees information.
The fee structure for the PGDIE courses at NITIE Mumbai is mentioned below:
Particulars | Amount |
Academic Fees | INR 6,60,000 |
Facilities Charge | INR 3,00,000 |
Student Welfare and Alumni Activities Charges | INR 1,33,000 |
Hostel Charge | INR 1,20,000 |
Deposits | INR 50,000 |
Total | INR 12,53,000 |
As per the policies of the institution, SC/ST candidates whose annual collective income of the family is below INR 4.5 lakh do not have to pay for the Academic charges. However, these students are required to pay all the other fees.
