- My tuition was affordable to me as I was able to pay it off without much effort
- It was close to NYC, so higher chances of career opportunities and good companies such as banking ones
- I had an opportunity to do an apprenticeship, as it helped to secure full time job
Dislikes
- Extreme weather specially during winter, it made it really tough and made commuting to the college especially for morning lectures very tough
- Not much of an entairtainment options available compared to city universities, basically no night life
- Career fairs were helpful but lacked some of the major companies like Google, Netflix,
Campus Life
- There are 3 campuses: Vestal Campus in Vestal, Health Science Campus in Johnson City and UDC Campus in Binghamton Downtown
- All facilities a university has library, sports, gym, pools, and a hospital.
- Spring Fling and U-Fest are the major ones. they are like traditions with concerts, parties, nightlife, etc.
- I did not participate in other activities but the one i did was the Hack BU Hackathon organised by the student union, where you design a product and then pitch it. The hackathon ran for a long number of hours where you could see ideas coming to life.
Fees
- The total cost for 2 year or complete course was $44,600, out of which $28,400 was for Tuition and Fees and $16,200 was for living expenses
- It was charged semester-wise based on how many courses I enrolled in.
- It was around $600 - $700 per month, which include around $400 rent, $10 wifi, and the remaining groceries.
- Transportation cost was around $100 per semester, which included bus service, shuttle service, etc.

Dislikes
- There is nothing that i like in this university. I am not faking coming to this university was the dumbest decision which i have ever taken in my life. This university especially the MS in Computer Science program is just done for the business. They just want money from international students. And they will make sure that you won't be successfull unless you are really brillant.
Likes
- Career focussed: The course curriculum is designed and updated according to the trends and demands
- Less distractions: Located in a quiet neighborhood and away from the distractions
- Experienced professors: Professors are knowledgeable and teach from practical point of view
Dislikes
- Remote place: Sometimes, it is boring as Binghamton University is in a remote place and away from the NYC 3 hours away
- Harsh weather during winters: It gets below 0 degrees celsius during winters
- Has local airport but better connectivity of airport is 1-2 hours away.
Campus Life
- Campuses do have a buzz on most of the weekends. and there are a lot of organisations/clubs that organise festivals and parties. Spring fling which is organised every spring semester. There are 2 campuses. One is in Vestal (main), and the other is in downtown Binghamton.
- Every weekend night there is a movie scheduled (kind of old, not new). Free food is available. Many tech clubs and coding clubs are there. Indian festivals like Holi and Ganesh festivals are celebrated.
Fees
- Per semester I was charged USD 14000 considering I chose 3 courses. Fees can be calculated/credited by course. USD 1100~1200/credit and USD ~4500/course. Total cost was around ~45000 USD. University has transportation (free), rent (~500/month), groceries (~100-200/month) and other miscellaneous costs (~100 USD).
- It differs from person to person, as even 4 courses could be taken instead of 3 per semester in order to manage the master's journey, subject to the advisor's approval.

Likes
- The campus is too big to explore and it has a lot of things to do(wellness center, research labs, stadium, event center, etc)
- Faculties are highly professional and have very good network with industries and also has a research lab for one of the biggest semiconductor company

- Surprise quizzes during the lectures, are tough to crack but not always (these quizzes have weightage in evaluation criteria)
- No OCCT bus service during the breaks, making tough to travel around
Campus Life
- University had 2 campuses, as per my knowledge. Main campus (University union) & pharmacy campus
- Within the main campus, where most of the things are. There is a separate building for the library where students can study, refer to reference books and do many more things. There are separate sports facility east gym and west gym. There are ample on-campus student accommodations where most of the Undergraduate students live.
- There is binghamton stadium known as the event centre, where most of the interstate, interuniversity and other level matches happen.
Fees
- Here, usually the fees is semester-wise but the post-calculation average cost per credit is around $1200
- Breakdown:
- Per Semester - 12 credits (4 courses) = $14,400 + $1,400 (insurance) = $15,800

- Only 1 or 2 professors for a course.
- Research opportunities are hard to find.
Campus Life
- There are 3 campuses.
- Facilities : The majority of events take place on the main campus only, like sports. Almost all the sports are played here, and all kinds of cultural fests are hosted every now and then. Medical services are in a different campus, which is specifically dedicated to that only, but all campuses have their first aid and emergency availability.
- Some popular events are basketball matches, soccer matches, music fests, welcoming events, Chinese new year, Christmas etc.

- Breakdown of fees : Tuition is approximately 36 lakhs. No other charges are there, and insurance is also included in that.

Likes
- Good management as we receive regular updates about daily and weekly events.
- Safe and didn't observe any racist threats on campus.

Dislikes
- Few of good professor in mechanical engineering who can guide and teach you with passion

Campus Life
- Campus has many sections which includes Engineering building, Science 1,2,3&4, main and science library, university union which has cafe, food, gaming zone and different activity or event area.

- GSO is an organisation which arranges activities for students.
Fees
- Tuition fee is divided as non resident grad fee, international student insurance, technology fee, academic excellence and success fee, health services, college fee, transportation, activity, recreation fee.
- Fees are charged semester wise (depending on number of credit)
- My estimation of monthly expenses is $520 rent including utilities, $100 grocery, $30 other expenses.

Likes
- The Campus is quite huge with multiple options for food. There are Indian restaurants/food outlets on campus as well.
- The CS Faculty, Resources, On-Campus work opportunities, off-campus housing affordability and transport services are just amazing and useful.
Dislikes
- I would say support to students who have graduated after their course and looking for work could improve from the university, also support to get LinkedIn premium, Leetcode premium, courses could also use modern technology as AI is changing the education and learning for students as well.
- I would also say the faculty should be more stricter on AI usage, plagiarism by students. Also, exams could be a bit tougher for students as almost all the exams are open-book.
- The initial support given by the university can be improved for the international students in terms of finding off-campus housing, financial support to support students in need can be improved.
Campus Life
- The university has 3 campuses. Main campus, Downtown campus, and Health center campus.
- The university has mostly all major sports facilities including basketball, baseball, soccer, swimming arenas.
- The major festivals are Springhampton held in the beginning of Spring semester, and fall festival in fall semester. There is also homecoming during homecoming weekend. Major clubs hold campus survival games, outdoor activities, speed dating, health and wellness events across the semesters.
Fees
-
Fees would be as below (Per semester):

9 credits per semester = ~ US $9000
Total course credits (4 semesters - 31 credits) - Accommodation - Off campus - US $450 per month all inclusive

- Health insurance per semester - approximately US $1500

- Career support : Here at SUNY Binghamton , we are provided with career counseling , job fairs , networking opportunities and what not. There is a Fleishman centre here which can even guide you from how to build resume to tips and tricks to crack interviews.
- There are many libraries to study but my favourite one is Glen Bartle Library which is just near to University Union . The environment there is quiet and peaceful with no disturbance at all. It is always open until and unless there are some vacations or some public holidays.
- MarketPlace : It is situated in the ground floor of University Union. The actual food place where you can eat variety of food especially for those Indian students who can't eat non vegetarian food , you guys can easily find it here . But the choices for non veg is even more.
Dislikes
- I don't think there are any points which i dislike for now.
- There are many Indian students enrolled every year in Masters in CS and IS. So it's better that you get your own country people and you actually vibe with them very early. **But some of us don't want to be again in that same Indian culture , they want to explore more , more American students, learn from them , even talk to them in English then this place is not yours because here you will find 70% indian students in CS and IS , mostly talk to each other in their own mother tongue.** Outside that other programs have only domestic and US students

Fees

- So , tuition fees : $27000
- Living expenses: depends on how you are spending money
- Usually 8000-9000 $ including everything
- The above cost is for 1 year for both tution fees and expenses*
- About transportation , we are free to travel in Public buses (BC Transit) as well as University's private buses (OCCT).
- We just have to scan our university ID card and its free travel within the city. University takes care of that.

- The tuition is charged as $1000 for each credit. And each subject/class is of 3 credits and the termination project is of 1 credit. We have to complete a total of 31 credits to complete the course implying we need to register at least 10 classes and a termination project/thesis. I have registered for 3 classes in the first semester, 4 in 2nd, 3 classes in 3rd semester and have completed my termination project in 4th semester.
- The tuition fees is charged semester-wise. The first two semesters are charged with a mandatory minimum fees of 4 classes even though we take only 3 classes in any of the semester.
- The transportation is included in the fees. Regarding monthly expenses, I used to live off-campus which costed me a monthly rent of $425 including all utilities and maybe a $150 - $200 of food expenses per month totaling an estimated $625 per month or might be more as I have never actually done a calculation
