  • There are 3 campuses: Vestal Campus in Vestal, Health Science Campus in Johnson City and UDC Campus in Binghamton Downtown
  • All facilities a university has library, sports, gym, pools, and a hospital.
  • Spring Fling and U-Fest are the major ones. they are like traditions with concerts, parties, nightlife, etc.
  • I did not participate in other activities but the one i did was the Hack BU Hackathon organised by the student union, where you design a product and then pitch it. The hackathon ran for a long number of hours where you could see ideas coming to life.

  • Since on campus was expensive i took off-campus housing. There were many whatsapp and fb groups and from there i found an apartment to rent
  • My monthly rent was $400 excluding wifi
  • Since I am vegetarian, finding vegetarian roommates to share the apartment was the most difficult
  • Yes, university have whatsapp groups always start there. FB are great but there are lot of scammers too so be sure of it before making any payment
  • About a 40 min bus drive; Most of them stay off campus near downtown.

  • Campuses do have a buzz on most of the weekends. and there are a lot of organisations/clubs that organise festivals and parties. Spring fling which is organised every spring semester. There are 2 campuses. One is in Vestal (main), and the other is in downtown Binghamton.
  • Every weekend night there is a movie scheduled (kind of old, not new). Free food is available. Many tech clubs and coding clubs are there. Indian festivals like Holi and Ganesh festivals are celebrated.

  • Masters students have to choose off campus. I sublet a room from a friend i made during the application process. I used to pay $350/month for rent. There are many websites, apartments.com, rent college pads. There are many property managers in Binghamton. My accommodation was 3-4 miles away. I had to take the campus bus. It used to reach in 10-15 minutes.

  • University had 2 campuses, as per my knowledge. Main campus (University union) & pharmacy campus
  • Within the main campus, where most of the things are. There is a separate building for the library where students can study, refer to reference books and do many more things. There are separate sports facility east gym and west gym. There are ample on-campus student accommodations where most of the Undergraduate students live.
  • There is binghamton stadium known as the event centre, where most of the interstate, interuniversity and other level matches happen.

  • For finding the accommodation, there is not just one thing that helped. I found a group where all Binghamton Students for Fall '24 have finalised their university.
  • Students from Mumbai Pune contacted each other and likewise, we made a group of 8 and started to hunt for houses
  • We used apartments.com, zillow, and a few others which had renting available posts from direct owners. Using that, we found an owner, got a virtual tour of the house and finalized it before flying to US (Note: all after the visa was approved)
  • There are few other agents (no broking from students) that had accommodations. (Amikus)
  • More details can be found in the binghamton website too.

  • There are 3 campuses.
  • Facilities : The majority of events take place on the main campus only, like sports. Almost all the sports are played here, and all kinds of cultural fests are hosted every now and then. Medical services are in a different campus, which is specifically dedicated to that only, but all campuses have their first aid and emergency availability.
  • Some popular events are basketball matches, soccer matches, music fests, welcoming events, Chinese new year, Christmas etc.

  • On-campus housing is not allowed for graduate students. Off-campus housing is the only option. There are many people who sublease their apartments, post messages on social media, agencies that provide housing, etc. Finding accommodation is not very difficult in the city.
  • The monthly rent starts at $430 and goes up to $650, including all utilities.
  • I didn't face any challenge, and finding accommodation was also pretty smooth for me.
  • Recommendations for future students are to not sign a lease, come here in July, take a sublease, and then look for properties. 1 month is enough to find yourself a good space to live.
  •  It's a 15-minute drive from my place to the university. All students live in the permitted housing zone for students, so everyone lives in the same area, especially Indian students.

  • GSO is an organisation which arranges activities for students.

  • I found my accommodation in a WhatsApp group created by Binghamton University students. Specifically for accommodation.
  • Monthly rent was $475 including utilities but during winter it goes up to $520.
  • Just look for a place near the grocery store and bus stop.
  • My house is 15 min to campus via bus and most of the Indian students stay near Main Street. If you manage to get car then it's 10 min.

  • I found accommodation through an online platform associated to university and real estate agents. I lived off-campus. My monthly rent averaged around USD 450-500 which included personal room, furniture, TV, wifi, kitchen, electricity, water.
  • The key challenge was to find housing through reliable sources to trust, safe neighborhood, ease of commute to the university, affordable cost. My accommodation is 25 mins away from the university using university transport bus.

  • Join telegram or facebook groups of any university. You will find people there who help you finding apartments whether its sublease or whether its some agency who will help find you safe homes
  • Monthly rent is 400-450$ including utilities + everything for fully furnished (washer , dryer , tv , oven , dish washer and what not)
  • No challenges encountered there are lot of people you can find on LinkedIn in who are studying currently or who are passed out from any university you going in. Ask them they wont refuse to help you
  • For accomodations , just find it between 400-475 $ for my city . Going above that amount is just foolishness because you can easily find a very good apartment in the same range.
  • My accommodation is 3 miles away. But here that's not a case because every 20-25 minutes , public transport and university buses are running (free of cost)

  • I have used the Binghamton housing groups on Facebook, while also looking for real estate agents and connected with students studying at the university for options regarding accommodation
  • My monthly rent was $425 and it included facilities like electricity, water, gas, wifi, heater/AC and it was a furnished house with all the equipment like having a bed, cupboard, closet, a table and a chair in every room while also having basic necessary things like oven, gas stove, fridge, a tv in the house
  • It would take a 10-15 min drive to the campus. Most of the Indian students stay at the west side of Binghamton
