What Students Say
Dislikes
- There is nothing that i like in this university. I am not faking coming to this university was the dumbest decision which i have ever taken in my life. This university especially the MS in Computer Science program is just done for the business. They just want money from international students. And they will make sure that you won't be successfull unless you are really brillant.
Course Curriculum
- Syllabus is relevant and new but extremely difficult to cope with the knowledge you got from undergraduate studies in INDIA unless and until you are from IIT/NIT. No, they won't give any opportunities unless you beg every day to the professors for some experience. One course will have 3 hours in a week. So if you are taking 4 courses, then you have 12 hours of class in a week.
- No fixed timings; it can be any time of the day from 8.30 AM to 9.00 PM. The students in classes are not fixed as in INDIA. Most of the courses are electives, so there will be undergrads, grads and even PHD students in a class and the same people may not be in the next elective course that you take.
Admission Experience
- I am a transfer student from VIT Bangalore. I did the first year of my master's in India then i came here for the second year. I wanted to go for an MS in CS; in order to get the credits transferred, I didn't have any other good options. This was the only reason to choose this university. As I already mentioned, this is a money-looting business done by the VIT, Bangalore. VIT Bangalore has connections with many foreign universities to which students are not going. VIT Bangalore markets this programme as a 1 + 1 overseas programme. This is all fake. They are trapping students in the shittest universities abroad.
- GRE - not required IELTS 7.5 SAT not required
Faculty
- 1:10 is the ratio. I think so but I am not sure. Staff are liars. Faculties are not at all interested in teaching; they just do it for money. It is even extremely difficult to meet your advisor for your termination project also. Nobody.
Part Time Jobs
- You will be paid the minimum wage as described by the state government. In NY state it is 15.5 USD. You can apply through HANDSHAKE. But nothing will happen through it. You have to go and beg HR.
- Or someone has to refer you. 20 hours per week. It is extremely difficult to find an on-campus job. 2% of the whole batch will usually get that kind of position.
Placement
- It's UNITED STATES. So please understand, even a student from IIT will also find it impossible to get a full-time job. Please understand in the US, you have to find a full-time job related to the field you study within 90 days after graduation if you are not able to find a job within that period, you have to return back to your home country.
- 5% of the students are able to find a job within that period. I don't have any idea regarding the salary range. In the US, you can find a job only through referral; other than that, nothing will work here.
Accommodation
- Whatsapp group. You can also use this university website for off-campus accommodations. 450 USD per month; all utilities is included in this: gas, electricity, water, internet, etc.
Exams
- IELTS is mandatory. SOP, LOR, and CV are the necessary documents.
Fees
- 45000 USD.
