Course Curriculum

  •  Course curriculum  Was it more theoretical, practical, or a mix of both? - Depends on the course that u take. Medium to hard level difficulty. Mix of both
  • Good course curriculum, but leaned towards research. Good clg for research, but for job, not that great.

Admission Experience

  • I applied to only SUNY Binghamton and UTSA, accepted in both.
  • Applied to SUNY on March, get admit on June 1st week.
  • Applied to UTSA on Jan, got admit by april.
  • No rejections.
  • Selecting this clg for low cost and since it is in NY state(which is good for job search).
  • After acceptance, need to pay the one time confirmation fees of $100.
  • IELTS > 6.5. No GRE required.
  • Admission process was easy and smooth.
  • Which intake did you apply to, and what factors influenced your decision? - Fall 2023
  • Applied on march end and got admit on june 2nd, 2023.



 

Class Schedule

  • 2 to 3 classed, starting 8 AM in the morning and ends at 7.30PM. Rarely some classes will be after 7.30 PM
  • The average number of students in the class Depends on the course - from 20 to 60 students.
  • Many Enrolled. more than 60 to 70% or classes are filled with indian students in MS in CS.

Faculty

  • Good ratio. Not sure of the exact number. May be 1:25 will be good estimate. There are many faculties here.
  • Teaching is either good/bad based on the professor. Yes, the teaching is sufficient for securing a job.
  • Usually none of the faculty members assist students in finding part-time or full-time jobs through their personal networks or references, unless you personally know them.

Part Time Jobs

  • Students typically secure Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), or Departmental Assistant (DA) positions? - 5% to 10% based on availabilit
  • The pay range for TA/RA/DA positions? - should not be revealed. You can check minimum wage in NY state.
  • The other on-campus jobs available for students? What are the usual hourly wages? - Dining services, library assistant, student assistant etc
  • The maximum hours of work allowed per week - part-time : 20hrs
  • It might be difficult to get a campus job if you did not reach out at the early stages.
  • Minimum Hourly pay rate in NY - 15/hr. Medium to difficult to secure part time. Apply via handshake, you will get email if you are shortlisted.
     

Placement

  • The average salary range that most students in your program can expect to earn upon graduation is  - Min: 65K - Max: I know people securing up to $250K
  • Students usually find jobs after graduation on campus recruitment, internships, networking, or online job portals
  • Many major companies that hire graduates from your program -. Go out and search it for yourself.

Accommodation

  • I find my accommodation through - whatsapp groups
  • The monthly rent for your accommodation, and facilities were included-$450/month
  • Challenges I encountered while finding or securing your accommodation -Nothing. It was smooth. Students are helpful here.
  • Based on my experience, i recommend for future students seeking accommodation – Start searching early to get good accommodation.
  • Quite far my accommodation from the college campus- 3 - 4 miles, but College bus will be available at regular intervals.
     

Exams

  • IELTS is fine
  • Statement of Purpose, LOR, CV) - SOP, 2 or 3 LOR, 1 Resume/CV
  • Was an interview part of your application process? Ans: No
     

Fees

  • Tuition fees per semester if you are enrolled in 12 credits - around $12k
  • International health insurance fees - $1k to 1.5k
  • Transportation technology, recreational fees and other fees sums up to $800 to $1000
  • In Total: around $14.5k
  • Fees charged semester wise.
  • Student can comfortable live in Binghamton for $700 to $800 per month. (This is an upper bound. Students can reduce the expenses if they wish to)
     

Scholarship

  • Scholarships are provided in the form of teaching assistant and research assistant. There are other type scholarships for undergrads which I'm not aware of.
  • I did not received any scholarship while getting an admit, but most of students got $1000 waived off from their fees as scholarship.
  • I was fully funded($11k waived off in tuition + received stipend) in my 3rd semester as a Teaching assistant.
