Campus 

  • University's campus is located in Lowell, Massachusetts, which is nearly 25 miles northwest of Boston.
  • It has the second-largest campus in the University system campuses located in North, South and East clusters.
  • Its state-of-the-art urban campus is spread in an area of 125 acres and is located near the Merrimack River.

  • It is organized in six schools and colleges, namely the College of Fine arts, Manning School of Business, Francis College of Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences College, Kennedy College of Sciences, Zuckerberg college of health sciences and the School of Education.

Housing facilities/Residence

  • The university provides many housing facilities for students living on campus. It has the following 4 main resident campuses: University Suites, Donahue Hall, River Hawk Village, and Riverview Suites West.

  • The Bourgeois Hall and Leitch Hall are double and quad sharing halls.
  • The Concordia Hall offers a single housing facility.
  • Donahue Hall and Sheehy Halls are four-person, six-person or a maximum of eight-person suites.

Each room is furnished with a bed, desk, chair, bureau, and closet/wardrobe. Suite style rooms also have couches, study tables and chairs, and semi-private bathrooms for students. All buildings are coed. All full-time or part-time students are eligible for student housing.

Courses

  • The institute offers a plethora of courses for international students including over 100 majors and more than 50 different minors along with many certificates programs. It offers both full-time on-campus and part-time programs.

Scholarships/Financial Aid 

The institute offers its international students many grants, private loans and private and public scholarships to study in the USA. Most of the scholarships are available for first-time, first-year international UG applicants.

The university also offers many teaching and research assistantships, which promotes learn and earn at the university. It's Immersive Scholars Program provides aid of 4,000 USD for deserving students who work in research on campus or in the community.

UMass Lowell Legacy Scholarship is offered to children and/or grandchildren of previous graduate students of UMass Lowell who live out of state. The amount value ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 USD. It offers a variety of scholarships to our first-time, first-year, undergraduate out-of-state and international applicants of exceptional merit.

Some of the studentships, apart from the ones mentioned above, available at the institute are as follows:

  1. UMass Lowell Merit Awards provides scholarships worth 10,000 to 20,000 USD, depending on academic achievements of the students, the minimum GPA required is 3.0 - 3.2 for eight consecutive semesters.
  2. New England Regional Scholarship awards amounts of 2,500 to 10,000 USD for full-time international students.
  3. PLTW scholarship is a nomination based scholarship which awards 5,000 for Massachusetts resident students and 10,000 USD for international students.
