- Excellent Research Environment
- Lots of opportunities to collaborate between departments for interdisciplinary research
- Close connection with Industry
Dislikes
- Stipends could have been better
- Due to proximity to Boston and northeastern region, winter months are frigid with temperatures dipping upto -25 degree centigrade
Placement
- Almost all students get jobs after a graduate degree. Some get placed sooner if they opt for an internship or co-op. Salary cannot be fit into any bucket, as it depends on subject, role, and organization.
- While the typical postdoctoral salary is around $70,000 - $90,000 after a PhD, industries like AI can offer salaries of more than $120,000 to top graduates.
- Shared off campus accomodation can be anything between $800-$1500 depending upon the facilities offered at the housing unit. water, trash disposal, and heat are typically included in rent for shared apartments. Individual studio apartments would start at a minimum of $1500. Heat, water, and trash handling charges could be extra.
- There are plenty of real estate agents and online platforms to search for off-campus accommodation. The university also has a dedicated website for off-campus accommodation.
