IIM Sambalpur uses CAT score as shortlisting criteria for Personal Interview for admission to MBA course. Stage 1: CAT based Shortlisting
In stage 1, candidates will be shortlisted based on their scores in the CAT exam. The candidates need to have a minimum overall and sectional percentile in CAT exam, in order to be considered for further evaluation in the admission Process. The overall CAT percentile required is 90 and sectional cutoff percentile is 65.
Stage 2: Pre-Personal Interview Shortlisting
For all the candidates shortlisted in Stage 1 and who later successfully completed and
submitted the online application form, a Pre-PI Score will be calculated out of 80 as follows:

Stage 3: Personal Interview and Final Merit List
- Based on the Stage-2 shortlist, all the eligible candidates will be required to attend the

The institute started its journey from temporary campus in 2015 and has established a 200 Acres Permanent campus in Basantpur village near Goshala, of Sambalpur City, in Odisha.

MBA Executive students do their full time jobs and attend weekend classes or evening classes. While MBA students can apply for full time course or part time course in IIM Sambalpur.
IIM Sambalpur Aptitude Test is conducted as a standard test alternative for EMBA and Executive Ph.D admission process. The IIMSAT consists of three sections similar to the CAT entrance test. IIMSAT score is mandatory for candidates without valid CAT/GMAT/GATE/GRE/JRF (as applicable) score to be eligible. The total number of questions in the test is 120 with 1 mark for each right answer. The total test duration is 120 minutes divided into each section. The maximum score for each section is 40 marks. The three sections of IIMSAT are:
