IMI Delhi is quite a good college overall. While it's considered a tier two institution, it manages to place all its students. The only downside is the cost of the fees. So, if you're okay with the expenses, it's a good choice.

You can't really put IMI and MDI in the same bracket. MDI Gurgaon is considered a top-tier school, while IMI is generally seen as a tier-three institution. MDI is more on par with schools like XLRI, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, IIFT, and SPJIMR. Meanwhile, IMI is often compared to IMT Ghaziabad, MICA, FORE School, TAPMI, IIM Amritsar, and IIM Nagpur.

• At IMI Delhi, the highest salary for the 2024 batch is about 70 lakh annually, while MDI's top offer is around 60 lakh.

To get admission at the Coimbatore Institute of Technology for the Bachelor of Science [B.Sc.] + Master of Science [M.Sc.] (Data Science), you need to clear the entrance exam first. Once you pass, you will be called for an interview. The selection is based on your performance in both the entrance and the interview. No, rankings don’t always tell the whole story! Instead of focusing on rankings, consider that IMI Delhi is among the top MBA schools in India. While the academics are pretty similar across MBA programs, the culture and faculty make a big difference. Here, the rankings do reflect reality. When we say we're third in intellectual capital, it truly means our faculty is top-notch.

The culture at an MBA college is crucial, and at IMI, it's still growing. Initially, you might feel a bit restricted, especially when you hear about your friends at places like IMT, MDI, SP Jain, or the IIMs, which have more established cultures. But during my two years at IMI, I saw a lot of positive changes. Thanks to our Director General, Dr. Bakul Dholakia, who brought in some great changes from his experience at IIM-A, the culture has been evolving. He’s really approachable, with an open-door policy.

Placements are getting better every year, which is a trend seen across many fields, thanks in part to our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The combined impact of our PM and our DG has significantly boosted IMI Delhi's placement scene.

Beyond that, any Tier I or Tier II college will offer you a fantastic experience while doing your PGDM. It’s a worthwhile investment that will have a lasting impact on you. I suggest not choosing an institution ranked lower than this, as an MBA from such places might not be very valuable.

In my opinion, IMI Delhi is among the top Tier II colleges, with only the older IIMs, FMS, MDI, IIFT, SP Jain, Jamnalal Bajaj, XLRI, and NM Mumbai ahead of it. But honestly, a student from IMI Delhi can easily compete with those from these schools.

P.S. I might have left out one or two famous colleges that are better than IMI. That could be a mistake or maybe intentional, since this is just my personal take.

I graduated from IMI, New Delhi in 2018. Before joining, I had offers from IMT, TAPMI, and FORE, and I was torn between IMI and IMT. Here are some things to think about if you're deciding between these schools: First, do you have a better option than these two? Second, remember that many business schools report inflated salary packages, so you might want to adjust the figure down by about 1.5-2 lakhs for a more realistic view. Third, if your percentile isn't high enough for the top IIMs, ISB, or XLRI, it's unlikely you'll get equivalent salary offers. Fourth, if you choose to pursue an MBA at either IMI or IMT, be ready to work hard and stay focused.

When I chose IMI, I committed to working hard to reach the level of peers from IIM A, B, or C. The campus isn't huge, and first-year students live off-campus, while second-year students stay in campus hostels. The faculty includes both outstanding and average professors, but you'll learn what you need to succeed in business. For placements, focus on building a well-rounded profile with a good CGPA, take up roles in student bodies like committees and clubs, and participate in events like TEDx and competitions. This preparation will help you become a strong candidate for top companies. When considering placements, prioritize the job profile, company, and then salary. Many people do it the other way around, but they might not be well-informed.

I followed this path and achieved a strong profile, landed a good company, and got a decent salary. Infrastructure, placements, and faculty matter, but your hard work is what truly counts. Your MBA will enhance your personality and open doors.

Just to add, I'm working in an investment banking role at one of India's oldest and leading investment banks. My profile includes a CGPA close to six and an engineering background with 32 months of experience in the automobile industry.

The students in the 2020 batch at IMI Delhi have an average work experience of about 32 months, so the idea that it's not suitable for someone with 2 to 5 years of experience might not be accurate. No matter which college you choose, there will be plenty of chances for growth, but it's all about how you take advantage of them.

Some people think that just getting into a top business school is enough, but once you're in, you need to work really hard to keep up with the academic demands. Even if you have work experience, you need to be diligent and put in a lot of effort because your peers at IMI are highly competitive, and you'll need to keep up with them.

If you're prepared to put in your best effort over the next couple of years, IMI New Delhi could be a great fit for you.

Many students dream of joining a top B-School, but only a few manage to get in. When it comes to IMI Delhi, ranked 13th among India's top B-Schools, their selection process is pretty tough. They don't just focus on your CAT score like many other top schools. There's also an extempore round, which I've heard isn't too hard, but it can depend on your profile. They're really looking for a mix of backgrounds, so they assess your overall personality by checking things like academics, teamwork, leadership, communication skills, and how you handle different situations. They use these to decide if you're a good fit for their college.

Every top college wants students who can become future leaders in the corporate world, but sometimes it's about luck too. If your academic scores aren't the best but you impress them with a unique talent, they'll still consider you since they value diversity and aren't just looking for book-smart students.

So, is IMI Delhi a profile-based college? Yes, they, like most top 30 colleges, do a thorough evaluation of candidates to find the best qualities in you.
