The students in the 2020 batch at IMI Delhi have an average work experience of about 32 months, so the idea that it's not suitable for someone with 2 to 5 years of experience might not be accurate. No matter which college you choose, there will be plenty of chances for growth, but it's all about how you take advantage of them.
Some people think that just getting into a top business school is enough, but once you're in, you need to work really hard to keep up with the academic demands. Even if you have work experience, you need to be diligent and put in a lot of effort because your peers at IMI are highly competitive, and you'll need to keep up with them.
If you're prepared to put in your best effort over the next couple of years, IMI New Delhi could be a great fit for you.
I agree with Ankit Dhir. If you're comfortable with earning around 10 LPA after finishing your post-graduation, then IMI Delhi could be a good choice for you. To clarify, 10 LPA is not the maximum you can earn. It's a reasonable expectation unless you perform poorly during your studies or have an unfortunate streak of bad luck.
In my view, IMI Delhi is a decent option and ranks higher than many newer IIMs. The placement reports might be a bit exaggerated, but if you're comfortable with a 10 LPA CTC after two years of doing your MBA there, it's worth considering joining.
