NIT Manipur offers different undergraduate and postgraduate programs such as B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, and PhD. Admission to these programs is primarily on merit through national-level tests. JEE Main score is required for B.Tech, GATE for M.Tech, IIT JAM for M.Sc, and UGC NET/CSIR NET for PhD. The institute follows an online mode of application with the application fees being course and category-dependent.
The B.Tech admission at NIT Manipur is conducted through JoSSA counseling. The JEE Main JoSAA Counselling is expected to start in June 2025, after the declaration of the JEE Advanced results. The JoSAA counselling is conducted by the Joint Allocation Authority Board at the national level to provide admissions to candidates in the top IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.
For M.Tech, participating in CCMT counseling is mandatory. GATE CCMT 2025 is a national level counseling process coordinated by SVNIT, Surat, where candidates with valid GATE scores from the years 2023, 2024, or 2025 can participate. The whole activity will be divided into three rounds plus a special round for filling up the vacant seats. Each of these rounds consists of a registration process with choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting at the allotted institutes. Admission to M.Sc is conducted strictly based on the IIT JAM score followed by counseling at CCMN (Centralized Counseling for M.Sc.)
