My POV on NIT Manipur

Electrical engineering has always been a childhood dream. Growing up in a village where electricity is not available every day. It has always been an aim to improve the electricity in the village. This course has taught me much I need to know about the real world. I would want to see improvements in the lab facilities. Exams are conducted twice in a semester. I would place the difficulty level of the exam between medium and hard.

Internships are of different types online internship, industrial visit internship, research internship, etc. Unfortunately I haven't undergone any internships so I don't have much ideas about internships. But i l would most likely to go for internship in the coming semester.

Campus placements are elgible from 5th semester. Offers of campus placements from companies are usually IT sector companies like Microsoft, Amazon, etc. The highest package is around the range of 25 lakhs. The average package ranges around 6-7 lakhs. Around 70-75% of students gets placement each year. My plans after this degree is to go for civil exams.

The tution fees are quite reasonable and stable for an engineering college . Me being an ST student enjoys a full free tution fee wavier. So the whole course for me would cost around 2.5 lakhs. I have applied for scholarships under NSP Top class fir ST students.

Ougri is the annual festival of the college. It is held around month of September or October. There other minor festivals that occurs now and then. The library provides almost all the books related to the course and some others such as monthly magazines, novels, etc. Each classroom is equipped with projectors which are rarely utilised. The college provides a standard size football ground and a badminton court. Sports event are held once every year. There are various student clubs within the college such as the dance club, tech club, etc.

Each room is provided with a table, a chair, a wardrobe for each person. Every rooms are equipped with a ceiling fan and wifi. The meals provided are not that good but decent. Registrations are done through online. The fees are quite affordable.

To be eligible for the course one has to clear the JEE exam conducted by NTA every year. There is reservation for backward classes. There are two exams for each semester. And the difficulty of the exam is between medium and hard.

The faculty-to-student ratio is quite good. A class has an average of around 30 students which makes the learning experience effective. The faculties are straightforward and simple. Interaction with faculties are often.

No interviews or GD was done for admission. But written test was conducted by NTA. The syllabus for the test was based on the subjects of 12th standard of science stream. The subjects included were physics, chemistry and mathematics.
