What Students Say
Dislikes
- Weak infrastructure, around 2 stars and still underdeveloped.
- Rude and overly strict faculty behavior.
- Very limited fests and extracurricular activities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is average and mostly theory-based. Core CS subjects are covered, but practical learning, updated content, and flexible electives are limited, so we students must rely on self-study. And the exams are also monthly so you have to work on your own to study.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total B.Tech fees are roughly ?16-17 lakh including tuition, hostel, mess, and other charges, hostel is compulsary for all students. The fine here is so high i.e. minimum fine is 10000. there is no maximum fine.
Campus Life
Fests The college organizes only two major events in a year. One is the annual cultural fest and the other is a technical fest. These are usually held between February and April. Both fests are small in scale, with limited events and participation. Compared to other engineering colleges, the excitement and exposure are quite low. Classrooms Classrooms are functional but nothing special. They have smartboard, but smart classroom features are minimal. The overall learning environment feels average. Sports and extracurricular activities Sports facilities are very limited. Only basic outdoor games are available, and there is no proper infrastructure for indoor sports or competitive training. Extracurricular activities exist on paper, but regular events and encouragement are lacking.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are compulsory and basic. Rooms are shared and clean enough, but facilities are limited and maintenance is average. Mess food quality and hygiene get mixed reviews. Wi-Fi works, but speed and consistency vary
Admission
I got confirmed admission from KIET Ghaziabad, but chose IIIT Manipur mainly for the IIIT tag. Admission was through JEE Main via JoSAA. I couldn’t get better IIITs due to rank. But if i get the choice to choose that again i will choose any private instute over this because of the location limitations and many other things like fees of herer is far more than most of the private institutes and bettr campus life there is more better than in manipur location and the connictivity of here is also difficult.
Faculty
Many faculty members come across as rude and unhelpful. Students often feel unheard, face unnecessary strictness, and find it hard to approach teachers for genuine academic or personal support. But some teachers are better than most of the staff but only very less
Night Life
Night life at IIIT Manipur is almost non-existent. The campus follows strict rules, and movement after evening hours is heavily restricted. There are no late-night hangouts, cafés, or social spaces. The surrounding area is quiet and isolated, so students mostly stay in hostels. Overall, nights feel dull and monotonous, with very limited freedom or activities.
